That's OK... there will be legions of people who buy Tracktion 2 never having heard of Tracktion 1 (or only in passing) for whom it's not really a vote as they never would have had great exposure to Tracktion without Mackie. Unfortunately, those same people are likely to never see this poll and add their thousands of votes.

When we're split in half (so far), and this is a user base that's been around for long enough to have supported Jules and his independent work through RMS, that's saying something pretty good.

Does your wife know about her?

I think there's some confusion here, most who have posted with a less than positive thought on Mackie are not anti-Jules.

I think it is fair comment that Mackie have horlicksed the launch, with all the NAMM announcement in January, the feature striptease that stopped after 2 weeks, subsequent media blitz and having no product for the great unwashed, not even a preview demo or an mpeg.

Mackie have been less than forthcoming to the current userbase on what's going on. I have the distinct impression that Beno would like to be more open with us but can't.

Mackie's surfer dude image which I find amusing usually just doesn't ring true here, it feels like a bunch of software wannabee amateurs who didn't understand what was involved. T2 is a complex release and the on-again/off-again pattern strikes me that the release team haven't planned properly, and to be clear this is NOT a dig a the software guys, I'm talking Marketing, Promotion, Legals, Production and Logisitcs.

I'm still a T fan inspite of Mackie.

I totally agree.

and, yes it is nothing at all against jules, never. he's a genius that should have be supported better by mackie.

Evidently I missed the post where someone from Mackie claimed out-right responsibility for all release-date slippages, and admitted that it was really all a plot to disrespect Jules. Can someone point me to it please?

In the mean-time, I'll go on naively believing that bug fixes, logistics problems, and missed dealines by 3rd party contractors, and a host of other headaches, which may or may not be under Mackie control -- I.E. your run-of-the-mill set of reasons why products fail to ship on time -- all played a part in causing Tracktion to be ready later than hoped. I'm also pathetically naive, I'm sure, for entertaining the daft notion that Mackie would have had Tracktion out of the door months ago, if it were at all possible.

I'd choose Mackie over any other big name in the music industry. IMO the marriage was a good thing for RMS and for Tracktion.

And FWIW, my musician friends take Tracktion much more seriously after the rebranding.

However, I'd really appreciate an e-mail from Mackie as soon as T2 is out, I'm spending way too much time here :)

Ah but Valley, none of those things would have gone wrong if the Software Marketing Gurus in this forum were in charge.

At least Mackie will know who to hire for the next time!
