R-click one of them -> select all other filters of this type -> <delete>

and why?
because the information they provide is irrelevant unless you render a track (even then if your mix buss is at unity and not clipping you know you're safe with no extra meters on the actual track) and removing them leaves more room for filters that do useful stuff.

I assume it also reduces the graphics overheads, but I could be wrong there.. i often do it myself anyway. :)

why?

[stretches, cos I'm just waking up]... yep.. warmonger summed it up... the meters don't clip, so they have no purpose other than a distraction. :hihi: It really does help me focus on the sound... as I don't look over at the meter, and think "wait, that must be too low..." If it sounds right, then it's right. It's inspired my creativity musically. I'm free of one more hardware'esque habbit! w00t! :hihi:

@Ron, -6db is an arbitrary number... different tracks are s'posed to be different levels.

I feel the same way about EQs with graphic curves. Is there anyone here that can honestly say they never adjusted such an EQ simply because it looked wrong?

Absolutely correct.
The visual representation can have a huge impact on the perceived sound.
I.e. therefore white loudspeaker-chassis are always judged thinner sounding than dark ones.

uh, i'm learning just how important it is for me to begin unlearning a few things....coooooool....

i turn off my screen alot & listen then go back & set the levels some more,

& do my verry best to not pay attaenchion the the grafic settings, (but it can be verry hard not to be put off by somthing that dosent look right)

The Tracktion level meters have always seemed a little... off to me for some reason, so I'm already in the habit of mostly ignoring them. Does anyone else know what I mean? I'm not sure what it is about them; maybe they're too jumpy or something.

I ignore the meters as far as "metering" is concerned. But I find them useful for knowing when a channel is active. It would be cool if Jules made another filter that just showed activity and didnt measure anything. It would just light up and use less resources than the meter.

I would find that useful too, esp. if MIDI and audio had seperate indicators..

O.K. you talked me into it! ...There outa there! :D

Ok, I try it...
It feels like driving blinfolded (not that I ever do that) at first. Does seem to alter perception though.
Maybe some similarities to what's discussed in this thread: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83717

got rid of the level meters while working on a recording last night.

...indeed, it was liberating!

i went one step further and switched off the mains power to my house to see if that would liberate my senses even more. i felt so liberated without those level meters that i whooshed thru a whole track without saving and now i'm gently rocking backwards and forwards in the corner in the dark.

not sure whether this 'mental transferance' message sending to kvr without electricity is going to work tho...
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
