I agree this is badly implemented. The option to have all the toolbar controls just in the contextual menu would be great.

That's a brilliant idea! Gets my vote. If voting counted.

Oh for the love of God.

It pissed me off for a second, too, and I DO hope it gets fixed, but in the meantime all you have to do is click the right area (where the filters are) instead of the left, FFS.

or just use 'Z' to collapse/expand the track... I use the 'Z' shortcut lots... stops you from moving the mouse outside of your workarea, and instantly the toolbar is gone...

I liked the location of the toolbar in T1 better, it would be nice to have some option as to where it appears. Again, if I could have the option to have it only appear in the contextual menu, that would be ideal. Or maybe the option to have it delay popping up right away unless you hover for a bit of time.

Or,

We could keep it the way it is.

There's always an option. ;)

Yeah, right. Always an open mind there, eh Lunch Money?

Lighten up, Braj. I'm just joshing. ;) I'm not the biggest fan of the current implementation, either, but I'm not all that sure about what would be better without a different group disliking it. You can't please all people. If a new way came along, I'd certainly be open to trying it out.

I DO have an open mind. ;)

Don't worry, I'm not losing sleep over your posts, LM. :P

I'm not talking about changing it to another place, I'm saying essentially that you can use it as is if you like, have it below if you like, have it gone (into the CM menu), and also be able to set a delay before it pops up. All these options are likely easy to implement. It wouldn't make any group that likes it now like it any less, but give the user some options.

But regardless, as it is, it's in my way more than it really should be. I see it as a design flaw. I'm certain any usability tester would agree and write it up as a bug.

Cheers

Except that it's not a workaround. It's built right into Tracktion's functionality. ;)

Coldnews-- use the filter area.
