I'm using this multi with a roland handsonic.
After seeing Bela Fleck live I was in severe need of a SteelD. and this seems very good. (too bad I can't remember the name of the player)

as I wrote in the other thread about those samples, if you wanna a nn-xt patch to cover Reason users, drop me a line. they're very small and you can keep'em together with the exs and sfz ones.

4 hours on dialup later..

ever made one??
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Waiting Man.. yeah go for it.. I have no idea what an nn-xt patch is!!.. but if you think it will be usefull then go ahead an create one and I'll upload it onto the site.. that would be very cool!..:).. And you have handsonic!!! wow.. I've been tempted by one of them (being a Djembi player).. except for the price tag... I've been hoping they'd do a Midi Controller only version.

Xoxos. Sorry mate.. can't really make it any smaller without comprimising the quality. You need to join us broadband bods..;)

sorry, nn-xt is reason's sampler module. the patches are just a mapping like sfz or exs, and they're small.

forget about the midi version of handsonic. you're talking of Roland  btw, I agree on the price, fortunately I got it for some less.
I also tried the steeldrum on v-drums to see if using regular sticks could add to the feeling, but it's silly and tiring, just like having a 2-meters-large steeldrum.
:hihi:

anyway cool set, again. I agree on the problems on hi-notes, but they give a lot of character too.

I'll send the patch soon.

Glooper, Thanks for the soundset. I've been using a soundfont from the hammersound site, and it's only "okay" after you've tampered with it. I used to own a tenor pan quite a few years ago, and left it in my flat when i moved. That's another story. But your observation about the high notes are correct. They were always a bitch to play just right, velocity, wrist movement, the right padding on the sticks, etc, without making them sounding shrill. So I certainly appreciate the labour and the effort put into this set, and it's free too! Thanks!

Cheers again Waiting man..

gambaytheunspoke... No Problem... I hope it is of us... yeah, I'm lucky enough to know a good player who played the notes for me. for the pads, he uses a heavy duty elastic band wrapped!
