Again, US only. the rest of the planet can ***** themselves.

Boy am I mad :x

you're not mad, you're an unthinking troll. mackie aren't *****ing anyone or themselves. this information has only been available for a few hours. do you SERIOUSLY think that there'll not be a rebate option in the box for other parts of the world?

you are being extremely pathetic EzyRyder.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I'd quite like to hang on to see what the official rebate situation is.

I want to buy T2 online now, but I'm worried it will cancel any future upgrade options for the boxed version.

But Mackie really have gone overboard for this. $20 is just simply amazing.

[edit - mackie are looking into it, but technically you can only upgrade the licence once: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86435 ]

I've never insulted you before in any way, shape or form, but since you got the ball rolling: f**k off ASSHOLE!

AD80, I just got my T2 boxed version in the store. I got it at Sam Ash. Not sure if GC will have it or not. I'd assume so.

But anyway, I have already registered it and everything. And it's great. As you know, I'm a long time T1 user, and chose this path, since current paid T1 users get $60 off the boxed version through mail-in rebate.

Also, very cool box!

Also, Ezy Ryder, Beno has already said that some kind of deal is in the works for non-US customers. You were complaining about it in the T forum also, and got that answer. Why keep on going about it? Seriously, how easy do you think it is to offer the same deal everywhere? Hey if I want CM magazine here in the states, it will cost me ALOT more than in the UK. Is that their fault? No, it's the way things work.

But again, Beno has already answered your gripes. Give it up.

HI

Let the man gripe, already!

Blimey, you say he's already griped in the forum - well this only makes 2 gripes.

I don't think 2 gripes is unreasonable.

Personally I can hardly believe how financially REASONABLE getting T2 was - I have no inclination to spend mega bux for a box and a couple of plug-ins (RM4 is nice though, fortunately I have it) but maybe some do.

Flipper.

I don't have any real animosity for him, just that he is still complaining about something that has already been answered. And for those who come to the hosts forum first, who may be interested, I don't want them to think that because one person said they are being screwed, that it is true. I was, in a kind of defensive way, giving the truth out.

Also, original flipper, since I have my boxed T2 already, can you confirm how many kits the RMIV original version has, so I can give that answer in the T forums with the Tracktion version. I actually haven't counted them yet, but I'll go do that. Thanks!

HI

I was just being playfull - you knew that anyway, didn't you!

Blimey-RM4 has a LOT of kits!

It is almost 4am here in the UK and I am not on my DAW-I think there is something like 100+ kits over 600 megs of samples.

If you don't get a more exact answer I will check it out later for you.

I assume T2 comes on a couple of CD's or a DVD?

To get all this and the other plug's on 1 CD would be a tight fit and considering there is another rompler in there as well-if it does come on 1 CD I would question if it contained the full sample set?

Flipper.

Post

There are 3 CDs in the box. RMIV is on it's own CD, and the ZIP file with the kits was around 500MB.

Oh, and the kits folder with T2 is 991MB with 274 kits. I also have DR-008, and it has 3GB of kits and over 300. I guess I have all the kits I need, eh?!?!

Anyway, I'm assuming this is the full version now.

Yes and companies who are actually organized and have a plan will have worked all of this out months ago.
I'll watch with interest the rebate issue of course. I don't think there's been any official word from the marketing dinosaurs at Mackie HQ.

In his defence it hasn't realy been 'answered', so far there has just been a vague 'we are working on a solution' from beno:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... t=#1135972

One would think, with how long it all took (with a fair number of people defending the length of time with comments to the effect of 'it's just mackie sorting all the marketing stuff out etc.') that mackie actually WOULD have sorted all the marketing 'stuff' out, including this & issues like exactly who to email with the message that they would be able to go download an upgrade etc.
Just seems to have taken a long time & then when it finally happened it's like they woke up late with a hangover & just started sticking all the pieces into place with bubblegum & rubberbands.

Personally i'm cool though.

Post

I don't think they had actually decided on a final upgrade price until almost the end. I say this because of the hints dropped by Beno about things still coming together with contracts.

And let's just say that Mackie DID drop the ball on getting this sorted in time. By no means did they "screw" anyone. First, they're not required to even give any discount. Now, it's normal to do so, and no surprise that they did.

But nobody got screwed. It may be a little frustrating to have to wait a bit longer, I agree. And I would probably be a little irked also, but Beno HAS said what he can, whether it's a full, "this is what's going to happen" or not, it's an official response, and they ARE working on it. So the only thing one can do is to just wait. It does suck a bit, but that's the way it is. I'm sure it is super tricky dealing with packaged goods and going overseas and rebates and the like.
