Did you try it really? Seems genialy simple. But still why it is not possible inside totalmix???
It's maybe hard to believe, but all 3 ADATS I/O and SPDIF are busy on my card, but it is worth trying.

Don't forget that your music might eventually outlive you.

One of the more common 'pro' approaches is to mix out into a hardware device, such as a CD-RW or Harddisk recorder, like the Alesis Masterlink. (Though, I don't know anyone 'pro' who doesn't have a high-end converter with the Masterlink because the ML converters suck.)GYang wrote:QUESTION TO ALL:
What is finally the best strategy for getting high quality 2 track final mix out?
If you're looking for "high-quality", you should possibly consider investing in this approach.

My workaround is soundcard specific. EDIROL ua 25 has an active monitoring feature, in fact a digital loopback that allows the sound on the outputs to be loslessly transfered back to the input!
So, I turn Digital In option, plug soundcard input to a Tracktion channel and press record! The Master output, together with all VST processing is recorded back to a channel. (Must disable End-to-end, otherwise you will get feedback).
Now I can edit the output in outside editor, Audition being my preference. Also, other sort of editing and remixing in T2 is now possible.
Great stuff!
