That's what I just said - I went back and checked at Noisevault - there are still 2 sets of PCM91 impulses - presumably the 1st batch are the crap ones at 16bit (and from what I remember of the blurb on the site from way back, they were even decoded from MP3s - which means avoid like the plague...) but the 2nd set (a smaller batch unfortunately) are the 24bit ones - nicely recorded too. They're my go-to impulses almost every time.kritikon - wrong. I just downloaded that from PCM 90 and they are 16 bit and sound is not so special. That from PCM 91 is much more better. Check it by yourself.
Halls from PCM 90 are 16-bit and from PCM91 are 24.bit...
Much better sound with that PCM 91
And I wholeheartedly recommend you try the Eventide impulses if you haven't already - nice indeed. There's a big batch from the 4500 - loads of rooms and some amazing canyons and weirder reverbs.
In fact, when my mortgage is paid off in a few years, I think I'll go back to some h/w...an Eventide or a PCM (it'll probably be up to a PCM93 by then
Convolution's nice, but I still prefer the tweakability of the real thing - especially now SX is more compatible with h/w that's got digital in/outs.
