this is sad to me because I remember all the help and support that was given to WilliamK on one of the last occasions...pages and pages were spent giving him marketing and business-model advice. I go back to the Dash days and wanted to support him during his trials after his move from Canada. This latest move really feels like he is biting the hands that have fed him and its very VERY sad but I can't go the next step unless and until I see real changes.

I agree. The post I put last in one of the deleted threads basically said that I took a leap of faith and prepaid for 1.2. Now, unless I ante up more I'm screwed out of my money. That's crap. Probably worse in the legal context.

I also mentioned something to the effect of "This is the stuff Class Action Lawsuits are made of" which is probably why the thread got zapped. At least he can't delete this here...

Fool me once...

How long will that last him?
No specs etc. for v2.0 & no v1.2, so will it last until version2.0 is released, or will he need a further cash injection?
Speculating on the $12k price tag he put on wusik he obviously needs some dosh quite bad.
Any of you keeping tabs on the wusik forum noticed that he still hasn't definitively answered v1.2 prepayers as to exactly what their position is, although he is giving a running update on the number of takers?
another $29.95 (thus they actually pay more?) or just the $29.95 in order to reward them for their ill-placed good faith & loyalty?
This guy has problems & periodically has to generate money quickly, reminds me of another dev who had talent but no business acumen at all.

I dont think its openly for sale anymore, but maybe soon it will be again, and if someone offered him the cash I think he would sell to save the hassle now, suppose it depends mainly on how many pre orders are got.

This whole thing is sad, and sorry....I cannot believe 28 people...are willing to toss good money after bad....
The bottom line is that wusik.com had a terrible (...and at times non-existant) business plan...flip-flopping on products, group buy after group buy...devaluing his own creation....
He's trying to hold folks hostage, by extorting another 30bux out of people that pre-paid for a never to be developed upgrade/product....
It would be laughable, if it weren't so smarmy....
I've always held off buying wusikstation....from the first "email" solicitation I got from the developer after he left DASH...I smelled a rat...there was a very "unprofessional despiration" in the email...that gave me pause....
I kept my eye on wusik.com.. (first it was a "virtual Label", then it wasn't...then it was...then it wasn't)...
While I often hop on a synth very soon after it comes out...I had a bad feeling about wusik.com....something wasn't "Kosher"....It seemed to me that it was likely, if I bought this product, that in short order...wusik.com would no longer exist...or the developer would change horses in midstream once again....so..I waited and waited and watched....and lo and behold...all this silly drama...
I, for one, wouldn't buy an umberella from wusik.com if I was caught in a downpour...
With so many small developers/companys...producing reasonably priced synths...AND...a strong business plan, and professional administration (take RGC Audio...for example)...I see no reason at all to support this shabby, unprofessional behavior....when so many other alternatives exist...

Wow.. what a strange way to do business.. give me $10.000 and I will make an update.. ( 200 pre-orders at $50 = $10.000 ).

William, you know, part of owning and operating a business is taking risks. Seems like you want to have your cake and eat it too..

Anyway, what a disapointment.. I can't believe you won't refund people who had pre-ordered WusikMod.. that is very unethical, forcing them to get Wusikstation V2 instead.. that is not what they agreed to when they gave you money..

Needless to say, I will not be pre-ordering..

why would I buy an upgrade to 2.0 when I have no surety that the product will even exist or if there will even be support for it in the future?

Indeed, and don't even expect to get your money back either if it ends up not being developed..

epytryga, the thing is Wusikstation is a terrific synth.. that's why it makes it harder to cope with this drama. If it was a crap synth, I wouldn't care less, but it is really good..

This whole thing is a total bummer, but I wouldn't accuse William of openly defrauding everybody. Only a total scumbag would do something like that, and I don't think William is that type of person. I think his heart is in the right place. Unfortunately, his business skills leave something to be desired. He should either bring someone in who can turn it around, or sell off Wusik and get a steady job as a developer for an established company.
