Does anyone know if sidechaining is possible in muzys?

If not is there a way to get around it by doing somthing similar to what the Orange Vocoder can do? Split the left and right inputs and use one for the signal and the other for the sidechain.

Granted this will only be mono, but thats plenty.

If no one has done this yet can i copyright it?

I just thought, it's relatively easy to set up a sidechain with Energy XT, but it would be nice to have a self contained plugin

hey i no a roundabout way to sidechain like in anything
well its a bit crappy but here goes-

use the envelope follower in cool edit/adobe audition

takw wav a and wav b

use wav a as the am modulater on wav b

create a mix down

invert the phase of the mix down and play it along side wav a to chop a wav b shape hole in it

And for anyone else with a host that doesn't allow you to sidechain, Bluecat has a peak recorder thingummy that lets you do a workaround. You'd record the volume graph with their plugin, and apply it to a channel slider, or midi volume or whatever. It might mean tweaking the volume recording by increasing all of the bottom end upwards to leave only the peaks and then invert them, but it's certainly do-able. (Sidechaining is alot easier, but the Bluecat plugin is pretty flexible in that you could apply it to an Eq also, to get something like a frequency conscious compression going). It's actually a neat little plugin that has a huge potential if you sit and think about how to use it for a while.

If you use Cubase SX3 or Nuendo 3.x, you can set up a Quadro track with Kjaerhusaudio' GAC-1 and run true sidechain compression as well as band-limited sidechain compression in these programs. It works really nicely.

There's a free demo. And it's PACE-free...

Doesn't have to be SX3 - SX2 does it too. And by definition, I presume Nuendo2 too.
