I have DSP Quatro... another one of those "purchases" I haven't fully explored... I need to read the freakin manual! But it's not the most intuitive program, and there just isn't any "examples" of common things you might want to do! Sountrack seems a little more "Maclike" for what it's worth?? Control surfaces in Logic are pretty much, create your own, or use a Mackie/Logic control... I usually just automate everything by hand anyway... but I've set up my PCR-30 for the basic stuff...

Did you hear back from Mackie about the licence transfer?
Have any of the plugins that came with T2 been registered (e.g., RMIV etc.)? I have no idea whether these just install along with T2 or whether they need to be registered like NI stuff.
I'm beginning to lose faith in Mackie ever working out some sort of international rebate.

Yes, finally got the go ahead!! They've already taken my name out of the datatbase... Woo Hoo! Still checking on the plugs... Actually since I have the full version of all these plugs already, don't see that it would be a problem?? But I can probably just take my name out of the IK database...
Yea!!
Yea!!

RMIV is a Tracktion only license, and all the Mackie plugs are no problem... IK stuff, I think I can just deauthorize those items... I have SS2, Amplitude Full, ST2 L and LE already... They can't get much more out of this customer!
I'll let you know though!

Well, T is free and clear, RMIV, and all the Mackie plugs... Now if those pesky IK types will cooperate... Seems like you could just remove them from your registrations?? But hey, that might be too easy!

Seems clear...kpbpsw (Mackie dude) wrote: Please understand that both due to the difference in our distribution chain and laws outside the US it is impossible for us to provide the same kind of upgrade rebate we offered in the US.

kpbpsw (Mackie dude) wrote:We are also working on both a bonus program for T1 owners when they buy T2 at retail and looking into the possibly of selling a upgrade boxed version that would require a current registration for it to be authorized that can be sold retail but this is at best a few months off due to development and distribution issues. As of now we can not give you a date for these but we are working to get them out as soon as possible.

No mention there of non-US customers getting an "equal" deal though, so I'm guessing that the USA_centric approach is here to stay. The "bonus program" will no doubt be given to US customers in addition to the rebate that only they get. And I'm sure that proper American heroes will also be able to buy the boxed upgrade version (probably several months before us good-for-nothing foreigners can)
Judging by your posting name, my guess is that like me you live in that insignificant twee little backwards island on the other side of the pond from the great and the good. I'm surprised that you are so willing to be treated like inferior scum, and live under the shadow of racist american imperialism, but hey, suit yourself

Now, see, that post could have been avoided if T2 was a download-only product
