Very nice work indeed.
Of course this ups the ante for Tracktion fanboys...
...who's the first to show a T related tattoo then?

The guitar is in various stages of completion. It's mostly raw wood right now. Here's the unfinished neck:

And the unfinished body:
(the left is the maple top, which will be carved. The right is a white limba 'main' portion of the body, which is chambered to make it lighter. The neck pocket and pickup cavities haven't been routed yet, which is why the heel area looks different between the two parts-- that whole area near the cutaways needs to be shaped after the neck is installed to make it all blend together more nicely)

I have purchased nearly all the parts for it now (Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and Jazz in the neck, Tune-O-Matic Bridge, PRS-style wiring with a superswitch). The raw wood shots will give you an idea of what it's going to look like. It'll be finished in solid black, have an ebony fretboard, and be bound in a single-ply ivoroid.

Maybe LM is hoping to get sponsorship money from Mackie to offset his guitar building expenses!braj wrote:Are you going to include that on your guitar? You'd never be able to switch to Cubase then
Well done, LM!

That's f**king cool greg
I must admit I'm always hugely impressed by anyone who can make a real "thing" that you can hold, more maybe than a tune or a computer program (sorry jules!), things that i can a understand a little bit.
If you don't want it for your guitar, i'd happily put it on mine

Oh, because that is the one and only place I have heard the word squonk used. Its kind of a board game where you hear a funny word and make up a definition. As I recall the actual word squonk was : A mythological wart coverd bird that spends its days feeling sorry for itself.Squonk wrote:Erm, no. Why?will.record.for.food wrote:Yery cool indeed...
Squonk,
Did you happen to ever play a game called balderdash?
but...nevermind

Heh, well if someone comissions me to do a Tracktion-themed guitar, I'm sure there are a lot of cool things to be done.
To keep with the theme of simplicity, though, it'd have to be either a Telecaster (true simplicity) or a Steinberger Synapse style guitar (only the bare minimum design elements used!). I suspect that a Parker Fly would do well, too. Then of course there are truly unique body shapes that could be made.

I wish I had it in me to make my own guitar. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Do you have a ETA on when it'll be completed?
