I dont know, I think you need more than just a great set of 808 samples to constitute a good product. Maybe if you had a load of the classic drum machines sampled in such a way, that would be worth buying. But with all the really cheap or free 808 samples about, I dont think anyone would pay much. Just my opinion.

That said, Im always on the look out for new 808 and 909 samples, so keep us posted. So far I think the Wizoo + hyperreal 808 are the best, Rebirth 909.

I've actually used the hyperreal samples in the past. I like the way they're organized and my samples will be based on the same idea. Also, 16 bit/44 Khz was alright for a few years ago but I think an 808 deep kick sample can benefit from a bigger frequency range...

I've decided on this project because I couldn't get a good 808 sample set I liked. I'd do more drum machines if I had access to. If somebody here has any other analogue machines and would like to collaborate let me know.

I have many vintage monosynths that maybe one day I might make a sample cd but that's a lot of work for right now. Maybe some day...
