NAS, whatcha mean by "amps"? Also, I don't think the issue for most people is being able to control the levels of each track with a MIDI controller (can't we already do that??) but rather, metering and visible sliders in the GUI for tracks and submixes.

I like ModuLR's idea better. ;)

There used to be a mixer plug-in for T1. It was a rack-based thing designed by a group whose name I can't remember exactly - something like Tracktion Faction. I could never get it to work properly but it had promise. Anyone know what happened to it?
