Aleksey, do you know how Waves MaxxBass does what it does? Can you create a plug to replace it?

electro, MaxxBass applies distortion to the selected low-frequency band, then applies band-pass filter over the distorted result and then allows you to mix it with the original sound in a controllable amount. At least this is how I think it works.

I think it is Maxx Bass with less UI control.

electro, I would not try to get the *same* effect. But I'm trying to get something useful in the same direction. Right now I have a simple prototype which adds second harmonic to the base tone. I like this approach more because it sounds more 'natural' to my ears.
