It's not brand new in the sense that it's been out for at least a week. But it is the latest (August 2005, CM89) edition, and it's not the hip hop cover. It's the one after that. It's a blue cover, I forget what's on it. It might be BFD actually, thinking about it ... it's big enough on the DVD case that i didn't miss it walking past it in the shop

No worries. I think it's the best CM dvd in a long long time. I've not even tried anything else on it yet, but it has a demo of Reaktor, Melodyne, some new mac synth that they rave about even more than they usually rave about things, and about 2000+ samples i will never use even though i'll have the best of intentions of listening to them at some point. It never happens ... never seem to find the time ...

I work at Borders here in the US and we still have the Hip-Hop one. Maybe if I can remember I'll post when we get the new one in. I know I'll be on the lookout for it since this sounds too good to pass up.

Erm, yeah, do that. Funny how chico mentions me mentioning Live more than I mention Live. I'm only mentioning Live because he mentioned it above. Crazy, huh?chico.co.uk wrote:If you promise to shut up about Live for a bit, I'll mail you a copy from this side of the pondbraj wrote:Any chance you can set up the free version on an FTP server or something? We in the US have limited access to CM. I'll even give you $5!
*EDIT* I mean a copy of the mag from the shops, i don't mean i'll copy the cd. That would be a bit offside ...

Tis true, i should probably have thought of a better joke than that. PM me if you want a copy sent, dunno if it's faster than waiting for the US release of the mag or not

Hey, thanks for the offer. But I believe I can wait for the US release, I think I can muster the patience.chico.co.uk wrote:Tis true, i should probably have thought of a better joke than that. PM me if you want a copy sent, dunno if it's faster than waiting for the US release of the mag or not

by the way, tracktion works perfectly w/ BFD 1.0 You have to use it in bfdall mode, and then you get multimbral so you can record by the note.
nothing controls VSTS as solidly as tracktion for me.

oh hey, wow this is great news, now I gotta try to find a copy of the magazine (hard to find in Australia). There's usually one guy who gets the single copy that exists in the newsagent lol
So just 1 question, do you know if this version can be used for commercial production ? i.e. if any of my music is released, will I have licensing issues ?
License agreements are usually what I'm weary of...

I don't think I could, i've wanted BFD forever, but never quite seem to have the spare cash for it. I thought the states was a good few months behind the UK edition coming out, but if the hip-hop one is on the shelves at the minute it can't be as much of a lag as I thought ...braj wrote:Hey, thanks for the offer. u bastard !!! lollol, sorri. It's probably me.
hahaha yeah I went to 2 newsagencies today with no joy at all, as you may have noticed mate, our nesagencies don't know shit about shit which kinda makes it hard to find specific magz. Since your in Australia, I highly recommend that you check out Audio Technology mag. Its around 5.50 $ if i remember correctly and it is in a little higher league than CM in terms of interviews, gear, tips .etc. You get some really interesting insight into pro tips.
Cheers
