actually I use them all (depending on the application) - apart from the 'speaker'-box which just shows '...' - I never managed to change that...

I did have a version that put meaning in that box
but as I said before I lost the release version in
a HD crash and the latest I got is the mono version that was 4 days earlier than the actual one and I did
quite some things during those 4 days....
Ohh well Isn´t amazing.. the plug I felt least for
is the one being mostly used...

I coouldn't live without it anymore! - I use it on drums (both real drums & synths), guitars, vocals etc.

Okeli!
I´ll do a new Gui and inject the Grease code into
a better working foundation (It was a while since I did the plug so it suffers from all kind of programming flaws...)

I never understood this whole phasing topic - perhaps I'm just not smart enough...snooky wrote:what about the phasing problems then jens? your mixes are gonna sound awful in mono.
(but on the other hand I never found a good description anywhere...)
about the mono-compatibility-thing:
there's a simple mono-switch on my amp which I press from time to time - so can make sure that my mixes also sound good in mono...

I agree about what has been said about Grease Tube. It's just nice.
RubyTube (free as well) might still be worth a shot too.

No the L and R are affected in the same way here. So there's no phasing problem. There are PHASE problems, however. But as Daniel pointed out that's what it is all about.snooky wrote:what about the phasing problems then jens? your mixes are gonna sound awful in mono.

ok...let's point:
I need a valve-distortion not an ampli simulation, and I'm gonna use it on synth leads or just to make some sounds that can be easily found (for example) in earlier prodigy productions.
I tried greasetube and i liked it a lot: it sounds really crisp but unfortunately it adds eq also, i need distortion only instead.
I tried voxengo tubeamp but I found it a bit weack and lacking in presence comparing to greasetube, even at extreme settings. Gonna try the others mentioned in this thread.

I think that's part of the magic it does...fliffo wrote:4

you can also try TubeLimit (also from the old TBT server) and Nonlinear2: http://www.uk-music.de/nonlin2en.html
(but both of them also change the frequency-spectrum depending on the settings...)

yeah...tried camelphat3 really impressive and instantly gratifiing sound.
Nonlin2 is good too, I like the odd-even controls over harmonics.
Tubelimit is good to increase loudness but not for distortion pourposes imao
going on with tests

set the 'comp'-slider near zero, turn the 'sat'-slider up and try different filter-settings (click on the tiny curve-display)fliffo wrote: Tubelimit is good to increase loudness but not for distortion pourposes imao
