I'd like to say, on the 2-month anniversary of being "awarded" status as a beta tester, that I don't want to anymore. There's been no communication (except 'stand by'), no nothing. Again.
I'm not really interested either, because I have an acoustic and wasn't impressed with the demos and so I won't be a motivated tester.
I'm putting this in the public thread because I think you should explain to other people (who might actually be waiting for this thing) what's taking so long.
Midiworks, I hope you accept this as my resignation as beta waiter. I'm out.

Sorry, Rene, I never got the file to you. For some reason I have barely touched my guitars in ages. My intention was noble, but I need to break through to another guitar phase before I can contribute.Midiworks wrote:Hi guitar players,
There will be a new amazing, never done before
VST plugin for electric guitar an
Acoustic guitar modeler,
but it needs a few helping hands for a closed beta testing.
If you are used to play electric guitar
as well as acoustic guitar, please apply by:
----------------------------------------------------------------
A:
Providing a dry/direct recording,
(Not normalized, recorded using a DI Box or Hi-z inputs)
playing your electric guitar just like an acoustic guitar.
(Finger picking and strumming ect.)
The recording should be 1-3 min long (mp3 at 192kbs or wav).
Simply play whatever you like with dynamics/feel.
You can use a single coin or humbucker pickup.
But it is very important to use the bridge pickup.
(Volume and tone control full open (max).
Also, please let me know the PU/guitar model you used.
B:
Let me know the CPU and soundcard/DI Box and guitar/PU you used.
C:
Tune your guitars please.
Add your KVR name to the file/s you send.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Rene
I hope the project is still going on unless you decided to stall or halt for your own reasons.

So the VST has to wait.
I will post here as soon as time allows.
Hope you understand.

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I've never been convinced of acoustic modelling for electric guitars..even the Boss pedal AC-3 still sounds like an electric to me... I would rather use the real thing or a sampled acoustic..

Yeah, that Boss pedal and the on-board piezo pickups people are putting on electrics thinking they actually sound like an acoustic (I remember seeing Rush when Alex Lifeson went that route and it may have been convenient but sounded like tinny shite) are nasty.lotus2035 wrote:I've never been convinced of acoustic modelling for electric guitars..even the Boss pedal AC-3 still sounds like an electric to me... Rene is notorious for making vapor-ware. I'm not sure, but i dont think any of his stuff has ever, nor will ever be, released.aribai wrote:whatever happened to this one?

Guess I should stop checking my messages about beta testing?
