Updating the MOTU instruments is something that will obviously happen but we can't give any schedule for the moment.

Thanks for your support.
And thanks for your reply, even though it's not really the one I was hoping for...

IMO,
the "obviously" part of it is not that obvious given the lack of previous support, at least it is a lot less obvious than the "no schedule" part, which make smore sense....

For me (and I really hope that i'll be totally proven wrong) this indeed just means that your insterest is way more in the conquest of new markets with a newer product, than in simply fixing once and for all what's wrong in older products.

But (I don't request a reply, this is just food for thought) :
won't the average customer someday be tired of buying things which do not really work the way they were advertized, with the only horizon of having to buy the next newest thing which might -luckily- work fine ?

Are there plans to support other multisample formats, such as Kontakt, Wusik, soundfonts, etc, so users could load their already created instuments?

Regarding UtimateSoundBank SoundBanks:
Well it's not really new markets, it's more a consolidation over the products we already have released.
UVIWorkstation is free so the goal is to offer a stronger and more solid platform in order to use the sound you already bought or the one that you may be interested to buy.
Regarding UVI Based products:
Those will benefits from the progress that has been made and will be made for this new UVI engine version.

As UVIWorkstation is freely available and can be tested by anybody, potential customers will have the possibility to check if this works the way they want.
So we can't be more fair.

Hope this answers your questions.

Nop. You can have a look at MOTU MachFive 2 for this.

There is one thing i don't get : is this thing really free, or does it need a dongle ?
A dongle is not free, right ?
I can't do anything with it if i don't have a dongle, right ?

It's free and don't require any dongle.
It does requires PACE driver installation though because some soundbank may be PACE protected. Not the demo ones of course.

Hope this answers your question.

Hi, Stanlea.
Cool, so i'll try it.
Could you tell me a little bit what is it good at ?
Id on't get the whole point yet (it seems very powerfull, but in which kind of league does it play ? It is mainly a sampler, right ?)
Cheers

Actually, there is a new commercial strategy from sound designers : they offer for free a nice player, with good demo sounds, and after that you can buy other banks if you want.
So we have in short (very short...)
Yellow Tools Independance Free : some very good sounds (Nylon guitar, Mexican bass)
NI Kore Player Free : good synth sounds, a very good acoustic bass
Satellite free : less sounds, just a demo, but good sound
UVI workstation : nice free sampler, more loops oriented than the others

Surely I forgot some.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Oh and I forgot : support french developpers !

Hi Tristan ,
Will UVI support Acid Loops then?

Hey,

On PC-standalone, I can force a crash by playing continually while I double-click to load new presets. I've been doing it repeatedly with the Nylon guitars from the PSP bank. This is as I continually double click a new patch while playing.

Also, sometimes the double-click behaviour is temporarily "broken" for some patches. Not patch-specific, but sometimes I can't double-click to load a patch, though I can load the next one with a double-click, and then load the one that was not loading, with a double-click.

There may be some correlation between these two issues, as they are both double-click problems. I'll see if the "enter to load" exhibits the same problem.

Unfortunately, Acid Loops Specification are not freely available.
Still we'll see what we can do about it.
