When using ArpMod1 as a modulation source it is actually receiving step values from ArpMod2. ArpMod1 step values are not available via any mod source.

Woah! Yes! That might be it!

Will verify asap.

Thanks for the hint!

Hi Urs,

Zebra 2.3 and earlier had severe problems syncing ARP properly to the host (SONAR 7-8) in patches with arp swing turned on: white noise when starting transport, wrong timing during play and so on. I reported such problems a few times. Has the problem been dealt with in 2.5?

Thanks,
Mario

Not yet I'm afraid, but it won't be too difficult I guess (hope)...

Really generous update! I feel like i'm getting a new synth for free (which i actually am). Thanks a lot! Looking forward to the full release!

I can confirm the arp bug in Renoise too, OSC1 plays the sequence just fine, but OSC2 just seems to play whatever it feels like, always in the same tone, no matter what key i press.

Urs, I'm going to ask very humbly - when do you think the finished version of 2.5 will be released?

I've got a Dell 430 which has core duo 2 quad @2.5 ghz, 6 gig of ram running Vista Home 64. Live 8.0.4 is my host.

I can get it to launch and work as long as I don't try to mess with a patch. I can even change presets with the top preset button but if I change to the preset view and click on anything the whole thing grays out and i get the spin cycle and ultimately I get a crash message.

Well, give it a week of bug hunting and another week of final feature implementation. Then triple that time due to too optimistic estimates...

Thanks badicus & zerocrossing - I guess it can't be a problem with the SSE2 instruction set then. Maybe it's related to the undo/redo bug which I think I fixed. We'll see tomorrow, which is when I hope to have the next beta ready to roll out.

As per request, clicking a module in the Grid while looking at the Preset manager will make the GUI jump to the Synthesis page.
Dude! :tu:

Automatic Panel Switch

Fabulous :D

Also, I want to underline the importance of this:
Urs wrote: Nevertheless, a 2.3 preset is still a valid preset, and must not be stigmatised.
Absolutely!
Urs wrote: ...In fact, many great presets were built on the shortcomings of 2.3, such as the massive resonance gain of LP Allround, or the nastier growl of the XMF. These presets are likely to sound different with the new - may I say tamed - engine, so there might be a good reason to even stick to 2.3 for some patches.
Indeed, not to mention backwards compatibility with older projects.

Thanks again Urs

I think I may have figured out the problem. I didn't trash my old Zebra stuff before I did the install thinking I didn't want not to have the old version on my machine just in case.

I'm sorry I doubted you.

Just now I trashed everything and did a reinstall and it all seems good now... My guess is it had something to do with either a bad install or having two versions at one time.

Not really. There's a new beta, cleverly disguised by a not-so-random cryptic naming scheme:

http://www.u-he.com/Z25b6Mac.zip (AU, VST, RTAS)
http://www.u-he.com/Z25b6Win.zip

I'll post it on the first page of this thread as soon as I have significant confirmation that some serious bugs are fixed for good :)

Cheers,

;) Urs
