I agree with annode.
I just muted this fellow. His rant is tired.
Elantric, thanks for the info. Their window of promises is narrowing LOL.
I'll believe it when I see it though (which hopefully will be pretty soon)

So I come on here, tell the precise, accurate truth about my ongoing problems with this company, the facts and nothing but the facts, and there's some touters come in here violating the rules of the forum by making ad hominem attacks against me, name-calling and cyber-bullying, all direct violations of forum rules, but I'm the one to get banned?
I assume you're little high school kids, as that's the only excuse I can imagine there is for that kind of crude and irrational behavior. You see that all the time in forums, high school kids calling names, flaming and acting out in public.
Go back to class, maybe you'll learn something. In the meantime, I will continue to inform the forum on my progress.

Annode is definitely right; customs is way unpredictable, no doubt. THat's primarily why I avoid selling on eBay out of the US, even for Canada.
I used a debit for my YRG too, and it was shown as a pre-auth, then removed. But since I of course keep track of things in my account, I just keep an extra $215 in my account (not that it ever gets that low anyway, luckily

Yes, it must be a pre-auth hold though if that continues all the way to delivery, there's no difference between that and them taking my money up front, you still have no access to the funds. They're obligated to state that in their checkout process.

I've requested they either remove the hold, or cancel my order. But since I'm lucky to get one com from them per day, I'm basically left in limbo for now.
If they had a telephone, I probably could have cleared up the whole thing in 3 minutes. I really dislike dealing with any company that doesn't have a phone number. Extremely flaky.

Interesting how the pre-auth got removed from mine then.Maruuk wrote:Yes, it must be a pre-auth hold though if that continues all the way to delivery, there's no difference between that and them taking my money up front, you still have no access to the funds. Apple does pre-auths also. A lot of people are confused by this, and no explanation is given.
The pre-auths last around 3 to 4 days.

Well I've addressed that with them, but they haven't responded yet. If they had just said that up front it would have been easier, but they simply stated they hadn't processed the order at all and had no idea why those funds were on hold, it was nothing they had done. You guys actually know more about the process than they do!

hey Maruuk read the previous post i made on page 2, it does seem like you get charged on your debit card and it shows in your bank, but in like 2 weeks it goes away. At least thats what happened to me.

Thanks cj, I'll definitely look into this limited-time hold deal. If it's not long, I can live with it. But if it's permanent, no way since none of us has any idea about when this device is gonna show up. I think the original target was last Fall.

One possibility is that they are attempting to get a rough estimate of how many pre-orders are viable and how many of these to fly over at the increased expense. So they do a pre-auth check to see which pre-orders are actually paying customers.
This is of course, is what many companies do and the reason why they do pre-auths.
Looks like interesting technology but having watched a few movies I think I'll wait until V 2 or 3. It's all a bit insensitive sounding.
Rather uninspiring video offerings.

If I were marketing such a device for the general audience I wouldn't put up the most blazing balls to the walls fast demo either.
It's marketed for families. A first guitar and a midi controller. Put joe screamer up there playing at a rediculously fast tempo and you are likely to scare away more players then entice. Not to mention everyone would start a hater vibe and claim that it was fake.

Hmm, you've got a point. I didn't think of that, but it may be very true.
Good catch.
