Yeah, $200 from Sonar 8.5 Producer... Not so cool. I gotta just export my projects to audio and be done with Sonar forever and not worry about having a BootCamp partition on my next Mac (unless it's for games, hah).

Sonar is a great DAW but then Reaper does it all too and much cheaper.
Now the proud owner of an avid 11 Rack, Running Pro Tools 10.3.3 - for me it's heaven!

I was including the usual Cakewalk sales to the upgrade pricing. I upgraded from 8.5 Producer to X1 for $49 and then got expanded for $10, but the list prices were similar to those for X2.

Also, the advantage of waiting for the sale price is that there will be at least one patch by then. I won't buy the alpha/beta versions they initially release.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

Oh, I guess I am going to have to dust off the sonar account and see what's going on over there :hihi:

They've gotten money from me for EVERY version from v4 (upgraded from having bought "Calewalk Pro Audio") through 8.5 and I finally learned my lesson. It'll take a vast sea of happy user reports that X2 is incredible before I spend on it again. I'd rather move on to something else, on a Mac, than continue that foolish money throwing game.

Not as hard a lesson as DAZ Carrara (v 1 through 7); at least Sonar worked well enough to be productive at all!

I am looking forward to this feature as well. Just yesterday I was going back and forth between various grid setting as I was aligning some 64th/32nd notes. Also the Webinar scheduled on 5th Sep will be worth watching if anyone contemplating on an upgrade.

Man you've got bad GAS. You don't even like Sonar but you're still thinking up possible situations in which you would upgrade. :hihi:

:hihi: As soon as he buys X2, Reaper 5 will drop with a new midi editor and he'll be slapping himself again.

The universe just deosn't want Hibidy musically happy. :)Like the old saying goes, if you want to make (developers) laugh, tell them your plans. :)

It's almost September. Really unhappy daw users should wait until Wnter Namm to see what's coming and just be unhappy for a few more months. Logic might drop something new. Bitwig might come out of witness protection. DP might finally show up for Win, who knows.

Clearly a lot of people in this thread won't care about this but... if you are thinking about upgrading to X2 and you don't already have z3ta+ 2 know that you can upgrade now to X1 "Production Suite" (I think that's what it's called) for the same or less money (about 15$ less if in the UK) than the announced X2 upgrade price and you'll get X2 free when it ships. The Production Suite is basically X1 Expanded plus z3ta+2 and an Expander effect thrown in. So obviously a lot of posters in this thread won't be interested (so no shooting the messenger) but for those that are I though I'd pass that along. Note that this is for upgraders from X1 Producer, not sure what the deal is for others but might be worth checking out if you're thinking about it.
