That meant it was an update.

I've always created templates with the settings set to my preferences with MuLab... and all my cmnd. keys. But that being said, quantize should be off by default IMHO. The funny thing is, most people unless they are keyboard players, would prefer to have quantize on on most stuff... myself included. But I do set it to off in my template then adjust notes individually for fine adjustment. There are some nice scaling features in there for quantize and other controls though.

It would be nice (for me as a Maschine User) to have a vst window option like 'always on top' to change/adjust the transfered data after dragging and dropping from Maschine to Mulab. I always have to open the VST window again after little changes in Mulab.

When offered a dialog, where the options for instance are Yes/No - the default option isn't highlighted, so if you hit Enter you have no idea what it will be.

Not really a bug: when expanding a rack the horizontal scrollbar jumps to most the right position. I have to scroll back to the rack that I expanded.

I don't understand because VST plugin editors are opened in a always-on-top floating window. So at what point does that window unexpectedly disappear?

The key editor covers the vst GUI.

Is it safe to just use my ML4 user folder for ML5? Since I've seen a post about this which indicated possible problems?

And a suggestion:

when I have only 1 session open and close it because I want to start a new session, ML closes completely instead of just closing that session only. It would be nice when only the session closes. The workaround is first starting a new session and then go back with CTRL+TAB and close the other, but this is rather indirect. No hurry, but perhaps when others agree, it can be on wishlist.

Gonna do audio recording tests now...

Can't you just open new session into this session?

I copied my User folder over and haven't had any problems since that bug in v.29

Yes.

Which ones?

Tip: Use "Open Session" instead and open it in "This Session".

I prob meant sl23's post, but he says it's fixed since new version.

And I thought 'open in this session' meant merging two sessions... like combining two sessions, but apparently that's not the case.

Audio recording seems to work fine, though it would be nice to have some simple punch- punch out selection so that you can select where the recording will automatically start and end and also on which -specific- track instead of always the master. But this stuff is for people who record instruments, like me and I think not many ML users do that, so it's up to you to give this a priority or not :)

Now I have recordings that are always a little larger (file size wise) then otherwise would be the case, because it's nice to hear a few bars of my track first before actually staring the recording of the solo guitar (so I get into the song a little first, to get the feel/vibe, etc.). No hurry again, I can manage this way, but perhaps on wishlist.

And also perhaps the pop-up question after recording something that asks whether you wanna keep or delete the new recording (pressing SPACE or y for keep and ESC for delete or something handy). The reason why it must be handy is because you can't record in takes in ML. Currently the recording is always saved to disk, even when I know already I don't want to keep it...

Recording quality is fine though.

Again: I know ML users aren't really into recording guitars etc. so it's perhaps something for the future.

Well I am recording live vocals, so the need to punch in/out applies here too.

ML 5 is coming along very well. No probs at all on my system (but I need to spend more time....)

I first thought that til I tried it. Maybe it could be worded a little clearer? When clicking on New Session, could say something like:
Clear this Session?

Or, instead of Yes/No buttons, rename the buttons:
[Clear this Session] [New window]

Something like that anyway

Post

How about "Replace this session or open as separate session?", rather than "Clear". (I'd expect "Clear" to leave the session empty.) The buttons could be "Replacement" and "Separate"?

Seems like the "session paradigm" is still a moving target... Can't say I get it still. Why for instance, does it open up my sessions I've named... as "unnamed session"??? To me there songs. That's why I named them... I have to turn them into compositions before they open named.

Say I name a session Starwalk... then name as a composition the same, it then says Starwalk: Starwalk
otherwise the session will continue to open as "unnamed" even though it's a named session.

Hmmm... Just have to save as a composition after working on it for awhile I guess.
