Hey Urs
With all the development going towards the Zebra update (thanks!), the Satin update (thanks again) and the Diva update (very tempting).. My guess is, Presswerk release and UHBIK additions are now firmly delayed into 2014, aren't they?
Or is the Zebra distortion research going to end up in an UHBIK distortion module (hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink, if you know what I mean)?

No work has been put into the Zebra update yet, apart from conceptual stuff that happened between beers in pubsmedienhexer wrote:Hey Urs

We've had another weird year. I hope the variety of plug-in formats comes to a rest now. After VST3, RE and AAX we need a couple of years of stability to move forward with things.
Sascha is creating a very cool toolbox for nonlinear and dynamics-oriented DSP algorithms. I'm sure we can come up with some cool concpets in future, some of which I hope to apply to Uhbik.Or is the Zebra distortion research going to end up in an UHBIK distortion module (hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink, if you know what I mean)?
Speaking of which, we will have a full time graphics wizzards who's sole purpose is to "re-imagine" our existing product line. As the last remaining hurdle to the-uhbik-we-don't-speak-of is the effort that goes into the UI, this may bring us a big step forward. (Note to our freelance graphics artists who haven't been informed yet: You won't get less work

Oh, I was referring to the distortion module addition to Z2..Urs wrote:No work has been put into the Zebra update yet, apart from conceptual stuff that happened between beers in pubsmedienhexer wrote:Hey Urs

But from what you're saying, I'm sure Presswerk will not happen in 2013. which is fine, it's not like i need any more plug-ins. I can stop whenever I want.

Not yet. AAX, Diva, Satin, Zebra, that's still the major topics.firepile wrote:Any news on Bazille 1.0?
We also still have issues with VST3. It looks like this format is not supportable for us, as its strange concept completely contradicts with the architecture of our internal framework. I'm so sick of working around that stupid random initialisation sequence, I'm preparing myself for the shitstorm when we drop it. That said, I'll give it exactly 1 more try.

Yes. I have started to send a set of fundamental questions to the mailing list.telogic wrote:doesn't stein berg give support for there vst3 sdk?Urs wrote:Not yet. AAX, Diva, Satin, Zebra, that's still the major topics.firepile wrote:Any news on Bazille 1.0?

We wanted to do "true" VST3 plug-ins, but in the aftermath this is illusoric. Instead we might need to start over with a simplified version of VST3 that may work better for our needs. It's however like supporting a new plug-in architecture.

I sure hope the mailing list is more responsive than the support forums.Urs wrote:Yes. I have started to send a set of fundamental questions to the mailing list.
Steinberg is acting like a company in crisis, spending more time on new products than stabilizing the infrastructure their eco-system relies on.

I hope Steinberg can help you with the VST3 format, in September they announced they will no longer be supporting the VST2 SDK…Urs wrote:Yes. Well, while they'll no longer support developers creating VST2 plug-ins, I don't think VST3 is going to take off anytime soon. Too ambitious, too restrictive. They won't drop VST2 in their hosts.foreststone wrote: I hope Steinberg can help you with the VST3 format, in September they announced they will no longer be supporting the VST2 SDK…

there will not be a shitstorm against u-he, maybe against steinberg (nothing new in the last time)..Urs wrote:[We also still have issues with VST3. Does this including the RE version, is it still in progress or are there no capacities at the moment?Urs wrote: Not yet. AAX, Diva, Satin, Zebra, that's still the major topics.

The RE version of Satin has to wait until the Satin "mute bug" is fixed. Before that we will not try to compile a RE.spktkpkt wrote:Does this including the RE version, is it still in progress or are there no capacities at the moment?Urs wrote: Not yet.
