Waveform Problem Plugins

When you sign up to do beta testing, you should understand what you are getting into. Nobody forced you to do so, it is voluntary. You could continue to run the stable version, until the new one is fully released.

So if you have the time to beta test, it should be done the correct way.

In my opinion, testing a beta plugin on a beta DAW is just asking for confusion. In what way is that going to assist developers to make their products better?

Do everyone a favor and just test one product at a time, in an otherwise stable environment. Reduce the variables so that the test results can be reproduced, documented, and fixed.

Have an issue with Eventide Equivocate on Waveform 8.2.0 on Windows 7 x64. Plugin crashes DAW when inserted.

Hi,

I updated to 8.2.0 yesterday and now everytime I open the app I have to re-enter/authorise the fx I'm using from the essentials package.
It authorises the one I click on but no other instances of that effect or other types. If I close Waveform and reopen it I'm back to square one.

I authorise using my password which is accepted and I get a confirmation message.

iZotope Iris 2 v2.02.415 crashes Waveform 8.2 x64 when trying to insert a VST3 instance. Win10-64. Computer has to be restarted to re-launch Waveform or Iris2.

Tracktion is not a supported host by Waves. I assume this means they don't help when TSC ask them to help troubleshoot plugin issues. I don't know that's the case, but that's my guess.

Yeah, that doesn't really work if the instruments don't work in Tracktion though, them just saying they don't support it. They're not going to troubleshoot their way through to that working, with you on the phone, they'd need to work with the devs to get to the bottom of why.

I've emailed them to ask why they don't support tracktion, when they do support things like Pyramix, but i'm not especially optimistic.

In reality all VST plugins will not work in all VST hosts. In theory they should, but even though all developers will claim to follow the "standard", there seems to be some wiggle room in the interpretation of the standards.

It's great when two vendors can get together and sort things out to smooth over incompatibilities, but sometimes it is easier as an end user to find a substitute that works. Making lists of incompatibilities will shine a light on those that don't play well with others...
