Yep... Studio One uses a feature in MacOS that's only available, from, dunno, 10.9 or 10.10? - As we keep backwards compatibility as far back as 10.7, we can not access this feature. Therefore we're kind of lost with this... you have to guess where to click, but afaik once you type away it's visible...?

Thanks Urs, testing right away.

The first one is always the DSI pro8.

I have only had the Repro-5 beta for about one hour, so this is indeed a first impression. I am pretty impressed by how quick you can come up with useable presets on the Repro-5, as I used about 2 minutes to make the pad patch in the end. I think the two synths sound pretty similar, but they both have a character of their own.

Download for uncompressed sound.

I am very impressed with Repro-5!
Thank you! can you give more of patch comparisons? :)
I plan to do that, but I didn’t have the time to do that today. Next up is trying to recreate my favorite self made patches from the prophet 8. Maybe I can do without it now.

Crazy that the Repro-5 runs great on my ancient MacBook Pro (i7), and big props to u-he for making it able to use multiple cores. Several single core softsynths (serum, reactor 6) are borderline unusable on my system.

Waiting for Starsky Carr video comparing this and other Prophets 8)

Correction: In Reaper it's ok. First test was with SaviHost.

I am not seeing this in Studio One PC 64 bit using Repro 5 beta. What are you using woodsdenis?

Yeah, we might need to figure out how to trick some hosts into Repro-friednly behaviour :hihi:

That said... we do have a glimpse of hope to reduce CPU a fair bit. The beta was built with a certain debug option turned on by accident, which may add up to a 10% performance penalty, and we do have to investigate why Diva's multi core has less overhead than Repro's. Doesn't make sense right now, but is a glimpse of hope.

Win is fine, MacOS is culprit.

And what's the story with Velvet presets?

I tried loading genuine Satin presets and Velvet just ignores them. But after some manual file editing they actually worked. And Repro-5 can even save and recall patches with such Velvet presets

So now my question is: is this feature officially supported?

Absolutely!

Just don't expect us to make a full blown preset browser for this... let's promote the idea that adding Satin presets *in moderation* is a good thing, and no, there'll never be support for delay/flanger presets. Azimuth is off the marks too, it's a banned parameter in Velvet, as we don't want Repro-5 presets that sound "broken".

How'd you do that, and does it work the other way too?

I would really enjoy the ability to use a chorus and a delay at the same time in a RePro patch. I hope we eventually (not for December obviously) get the ability to load up two instances of Lyrebird, and/or get freely assignable effect slots (who needs an EQ anyway). Heck, even a Lyrebird mode that acted as a combined chorus/delay would work as a short-term solution.
