No change over here unfortunately... and my u-he files are on an M.2 SSD (OS drive). I made an exception in Windows Defender for the whole u-he folder that has all the .data folders, no change in initial database loading time (first time from cold boot).tasmaniandevil wrote:Note to everyone:
Since Zebra now uses the same new browser as Repro, the same notice about malware scanners applies:
Please make sure that antivirus/malware realtime scanners (such as Defender on Windows) do exclude the u-he folders from scanning, since this can drastically slow down the initial building of the preset database when you load the first instance of Zebra in a host project.
Latest Builds: Zebra 2.8 *beta*

There was a big Windows 10 update, that has been glitching a lot of file related functions, and caused a number of support calls. I got it on Tuesday. I am still trying to sort out what it did. Which may or may not be a factor. Most noticeably, unziping files, and I have noticed that the browser database update has been slow since then.

Time for VERY unusual question.
I played with beta. Demo mode. I had one patch which was actually quite amazing (to me anyway) because it had randomization in sequence.
Now after i loaded session again patch is different. I just realized that last time when i "had it" it was actually adding some random notes (which is part of a demo limitation) and it was great BUT i was thinking random notes are part of a patch.
My question is does anyone know to what and which notes are randomized as a part of DEMO limitation and to which degree?
Because i want to recreate sequence - desperately
There it is...

Pondering... Was it the demo "noise" ?

Just downloaded this and it´s really great. The new GUI is much better (the dark one is a bit hard to use for me). I don´t see it beeing slow.....maybe because 100% fits perfect for me on a macbook pro 15".
The wavefolder is really really nice. And 2 of them are even better. Some great harmonics can be achieved, especially combined with resonance and the XMF filters.
The new reverb sounds really lush and much less metallic as the old one. Having both is fantastic too.
The bad thing.....damn Christmas stands between me and Zebra 2.8.
Just a joke. Family time. I wish all at U-he and everyone else here some great days.
What about a Zebra under the tree

I have literally been checking on this every few days since the teaser videos back in April. Thank you so much for putting this out. Zebra has been my go-to synth for years, and now it's even nicer to look at. Great work!!
Merry Christmas indeed!!

These preset loading times are kind of crazy. i have about 700mb on my zebra 2 data patches and im waiting about 40 to 50 seconds when i never use to have to wait a second

Out of curiosity, how many patches do you have approximately?
Also does it take that long everytime you try to use zebra?
And is this a PC?
thanks

I really think we need to have an option NOT to automatically update the database when Patches pane is opened. Let us do it manually when WE want to do it. It is not a reasonable assumption that we will always have new patches installed each and every time we instantiate Zebra!

Hmmm... I'm sure we did check with tens of thousands of presets.
In any case, of course it's a no-go if it takes that long. We just need to be able to reproduce the issues. This beta phase is of course also an opportunity to figure out what circumstances we hadn't caught.

I'm not sure what could be the cause here. I have a REALLY fast SSD where u-he data folders are (like, 2800 MB/s read speed).
