It's always this way.Teksonik wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 7:28 pmCalenberger wrote: Tue May 19, 2020 7:14 pm It's a market for boomer's juvenile dreams.
They lost track of synth development in the nineties and later...
I think it's a lot of Gen X,Y,Z whatever who are interested in the past.
When I was young, between 80s and 90s, it was cool to have late 60s/70s musical scenes as a reference.
Yes, some "older" people today get 100 plugins because they couldn't afford synths back in the days and have the good times nostalgia.
But this desire to look to the past belongs mostly to the kids; synthwave, chillwave, vapor wave or whatever you want to call them, are the proof of a youngsters' subculture which dig in the dust of 80s aesthetics and electronic music.
So, back on topic, I don't think that Arturia makes emulations without a market logic and it cannot be a coincidence if many devs make the same emulations in almost the same time.
This brand new OB-Xa sounds good to my ears; and let me tell you that for €/$ 49 many people don't think twice about buying it, close or not to the original.

How are you people getting it for $49? I have everything through V6 and Pigments and the best price I'm being offered is $99.

Same as me. I don't have V7 and therefore I got 2 options. Upgrade to V7 including OB-Xa for 149$ or buy only OB-Xa for 99$. If upgrade to V7 it effectively mean I would pay 100$ for the upgrade + 49$ for the OB-Xa.wagtunes wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 2:23 amHow are you people getting it for $49? The best deal I am offered is V7 for $249 and even with interest in "only" 13 of the plugins that makes them under $20 apiece which puts them squarely into no-brainer territory. But then I watch the news and see the possibility of a total global meltdown into a Mad Max style dystopian future looming on the horizon and think maybe I shouldn't...

I think Arturia is fair with the pricing here. I got V Collection 7 upgrade for $99 during last year end, so it is $49 for OB-Xa.ATN69 wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 2:50 amSame as me. Overall, I see a great value in Arturia products.

Sounds about as disappointing as i'd expect.i'll wait for the Synapse Audio one.the last Arturia synth i bought was the Moog Modular V way back and was listening to the mixes i used that in and it just sounds so so bad lol.i demo the Arturia stuff from time to time l,but i think i gave up after their SEM or Casio CZ-101(which i own)as it just seems that TAE stuff they seem to be so proud of has not evolved much.i didn't think much of the Matrixbrute or the other outboard offerings either,so i think me and Arturia just don't jive

It will be added to Analog Lab late summer, as told by Arturia during the livestream yesterday. I am waiting for that too.Gosh wrote: Wed May 20, 2020 6:41 am Sorry if someone asked it before but is the OB-Xa V already integrated into Analog Lab?
