Mine was set to Cycle, but still does it regardless of which of the 4 I set it to. And there isn't even anything to latch. I can cold-open the executable or vst, touch nothing but the mouse, and click only the preset browser, and then a preset, and sequence F5 is off on its merry way.

HOLD THE PHONE! YOU HAVE TO DELETE THE INSTANCE OF AXXESS AFTER CHANGING THIS SETTING FOR THE SETTING TO TAKE EFFECT. (I'm trying to describe the whole process in case anyone else who can use a search engine has this problem.) When I added a new instance after doing this, it behaved itself. I think this is the default install state? Why on earth? I thought I was going senile. I'd removed it from existence on my PC multiple times and it just kept on. I now understand the knob this setting is referring to, as well.

As a side effect of all of this, I've read all ten pages of this thread and my current debate about whether to buy Oddity or impOSCar has been more settled. It seems there's enough overlap between Axxess and Oddity that it makes more sense to buy impOSCar. Hell, even the Axxess manual refers to it as the Oddity3. If I'm still set on an Odyssey, I should maybe check out Korg's, too, though it only has 200 presets and the browser is uninspiring.

Also just looked up the 4 Axxess expansions mentioned earlier as free, and they don't appear to be free now.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

Hi, I assume you know you can change the per instance here:

My two cents:
I like Axxess much more than Oddity 3.
impOscar 2 was my first Gforce synth and I used it often, especially for Pads.
so for me impOscar 3 is love...

I do prefer, much prefer the Korg Odyssey over Oddity 3, though Korg needs to improve the browser and added the option to change the output default boost or cut like it does most of their other software synths.

Yep, realized that about the knob after you pointed out the settings bit. Still unsure of its utility. I guess I'd use it when tweaking a sequence, but it just seems like Latch, with a dose of 'oh god why won't it stop'.

And honestly, I never even give much thought to Korg softsynths. I'm not entirely sure why? It's not like I'm unfamiliar with them. Somewhere in storage I have my old MS2000R. That preset browser is a massive turnoff, but I'll keep it in mind.

Meanwhile, I'll probably buy the impOSCar tonight. And the Linndrum. I got the DMX a couple months ago, figured it was a mistake, and love it. I get option paralysis sometimes and if I don't want to deal with FPC or Triaz, I can just use my DMX template and it's simple, and everything's set up and ready to go.

Also typing this as a reminder to myself. Grab the demos first and look for deal breaker issues.

Thanks again.

Yep. AXXESS > Oddity3 for me, too.

I own Oddity 3 and was thus not interested in Axxess. Although I realize I can use one of the X-ADSR's as a separate amp or filter envelope (and in doing so get an extra decay stage,) I still don't like synths with a single envelope.

But Axxess sounds really good. I don't know what the difference is. But it sounds fatter and punchier to me than Oddity 3. So I will probably pick up Axxess the next time it goes on sale.

Axxess has been given away a couple of times already if I'm not mistaken. Once in CM magazine. It might still be in the CM collections if you can still get it.

Anyway, got it for free and never dug into it. Think I'll mess with it today.

Edit: oh, it's already been mentioned that it was a freebie a couple of times.

Great sounds! Nice video!

Indeed nice sounds. Makes me want to go check Axxes out. Wish Imposcar had a few more 3rd party presets available but has always seemed to be lacking.

May I ask what controller is being used in that video?

Yeah, the Hapax is not a cheap thing and it's definitely overkill for most. But that being said, it's very well thought out with it's structure and modular thinking of processing MIDI.

Thanks for the comments about the sounds. Axxess is a very cool synth with a very organic feel.
