Oh that's insane :)
Urs one question on UI: would there be dark on light skin? My eyes are old and they don't like dark themes and getting tired of them really fast.
I do not yet know if we can provide a dark and a light scheme from the start. We had a light scheme at NAMM, but people generally seemed to prefer the dark scheme as easier on the eyes.

However, if I understand our designer correctly, the new vector based UI can almost entirely be reskinned simply by changing colour values. We kind of "tint" the shapes inside the svg images. I'm totally sure that the theming community (Plugmon et al) will have a go at Zebra 3.
I definitely would like support for both a light and dark skin/to theme for Zebra3.

I may be in the minority, but I prefer the light theme of Zebralette3. Both light and dark are nice. But the light theme is more distinct and is definitely better-suited to use in bright daylight than the darker theme.

It would be fantastic if user-customised themes could be supported via an external text file. Ideally with some basic front-end editor. Which could perhaps be also adapted for future u-he Vectorial plugins.

Is there going to be rent to own in the future like splice so i can buy Zebra3?

AFAIK you can buy our stuff in instalments, but I'm not involved with that side of our company.

I just know that software rentals require online aware copy protection that clashes with ours.

Furthermore we think that rent-to-own schemes are too expensive for users out there, unless they really get to the point of ownership. Which they could as well do with a monthly payment plan. If they do not go through with rent-to-own, a traditional software rental (without ownership perspective) is much cheaper.

That said, the resale value of our software is pretty good after 9 months. So if you plan to stay on for at least 9 months, buying directly and then reselling is a cheaper option, even with a payment plan. Even cheaper is buying second hand (no payment plan though) and keeping for 9 months, which is essentially almost free.

You gotta make some videos on your personal YT.

Ofc, take as long as you want. I really like the no editing just commentary videos like yours, it's kinda relaxing.

I also think that the released videos are fine, you explained the features well and I think it came across how nice this will turn out!

I'm not sure you're minority. Lot of my 'dark modes are cool' younger friends has become 'my eyes are too week' not so young friends over last couple decades. Black on white contrast is usually better for eyes fatigue if done correctly.

I also like Zebralette 3 light theme over dark mode. And since Zlt 3 is sandbox for Z3 I think U-he can just reuse light theme ideas.
Murderous duck!

Soundwise, Is there any new features, or improvements in the sound engine of some modules?
Ok, so... all EQ and filter models were replaced or amended by better algorithms based on analog modeling. That's pretty much something that happened in every single Uhbik.

There are new modes or models in the reverb, the filter, the phaser. The compressor is an entirely new Uhbik.
Hello Urs, as a fan of all of your great sounding sound machines, can you please make it possible for Uhbik 1 to remain available and usable, especially since I've used it for many previous projects? PLEASE
:)

You can always download and install the old versions, we have a release archive.

The new versions are as backward compatible as it gets though, there should be no audible difference for existing projects.

The new filter implementations simply react better to modulation. Without modulation they are within something like 0.001dB identical. With modulation the old ones could become unstable and blow up.

Thanks, Urs, for the quick reply.
Will it be possible to run uhbik and uhbik2 in parallel? Unfortunately, that wasn't possible for me with uhbik 2 public beta and Cubase. After installation, the older uhbiks simply wouldn't open anymore :(

It's probably doable, but I would not recommend it.

Again, the new Uhbiks sound exactly the same as the old ones for existing presets. We went through hoops to make this possible.

Post

Is that due to a Uhbik v1 compatibility layer or they always sound exactly the same with the same settings?

Thanks for the info and the error must be thats something wrong with my system ...

I can hardly wait for the release, as well as the release of Z3, and hope that the old projects with the old uhbiks settings can then be opened as hoped.

Thanks to you and the entire uhe team
