LOL that cracked me up but lets be real here... Disagree. Subscriptions will keep a flow of money to software developers, which,The subscription model is detrimental to evolving the whole of the software. Perpetual license users pay for major features in new versions. Subscribers just pay to play.
I would like to think, would actually result in more advanced products.

That has yet to be seen. Big developments have gone toward new RE instruments for subscribers and the store. Daw development has been pretty well stagnant, and some less interesting instruments were added to Reason.Grizzellda wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 12:32 pm Disagree. Well, it needs a new sampler, to say the least.

The rack would at least get a lot more attention if Reason had a more capable sampler with better editor usability and a solid sample library. I'm sure that would pull some people into the daw too, but ultimately the daw needs more features. But that cost of development of a new sampler and library would likely land it under subscription/RE purchase, so it's probably a no-go.

I honestly think just buying the rack version outright is an insanely good value.

FYI. It seems that they are includedjules99 wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 10:23 am What's a bit annoying is that some of the more unusual and exciting instruments, players, and effects from Reason are missing from Reason Rack like Objekt, Algorithm, Friction, Chord Sequencer, Bass Line Generator, or Osmium.
I would have loved to know that before buying Reason Rack.

They're not in the version you can buy, which I did. They are only included in the subscriber version of Reason Rack.BrokenTrance wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 1:20 pmFYI. I would have loved to know that before buying Reason Rack.135 euro for one year is very much worth indeed. That is with the DAW. 79 euros for the rack with one year. You have to install the extra players, effects and instruments via Reason Companion, though. It is not installed by default.

I don't disagree, but that is beside the point. NN-XT, and especially it's library, are very long in the tooth.ATS wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:55 amI honestly think just buying the rack version outright is an insanely good value.sellyoursoul wrote: Tue Feb 03, 2026 5:06 amThe rack would at least get a lot more attention if Reason had a more capable sampler with better editor usability and a solid sample library. I think the basic idea here, is just subscribe and get it all, keep it simple, fresh updates...
It is all moving in this direction, can not you see it guys?
