you said a mouthfull!

We at electronisounds were JUST starting to build our own VST-i based on the wusik engine. at this point, i'm no longer sure it's a safe venture.

anybody have a say on:
"How would WK's rep and past performance effect your decision to buy a new wusik engine VST-i with over 1,000 presets from multiple sound designers (covering bread-and-butter sounds all the way to drum kits, gruv kits, and fx beds?) we already have GIGS and GIGS of sample data, and we want to be SURE to choose an engine/platform that doesnt already have a bad conotation to it.

any thoughts are very much welcome on this idea.
thanks for listening.

May I suggest doing a custom "Combinator only" set of refills for Reason 3.
CombinatorHQ already has 1000 members and the Prop's are currently beta testing the 3.1 update .
Once the bugs are ironed out alot more people will no doubt jump on board and the Combinator with CV/Gate spiders and audio Merger/splitters + the new dynmamics processors allows for some very flexible programming.

Hi Guys
Seeing as our Product ManyStation was mentioned here, i will pop my head in.
Manytone is doing all we can to assure the continued success of ManyStation and the Engine. The Bottom line is, that the Wusik Engine is a Great tool for alot of us and we wish to see it developed further.
I just want you all to know that we as Manytone are doing everything in our means to save what we can from all this. No false Promises of anything at this time .... Only know that we are fighting for our Life and for you, the Users!
I will say more as soon as I have more details myself and a better grasp of the full situation.
Thanks to all concerned.

Thanks Paul. It's good to see you state that. Although to be honest I didn't expect anything less. You're a pro. :)

if anything.. if it hasnt already been hit.. I'd say WK is royally hosed now for any future (music oriented) products he tries to develop and sell.. IF all thats been said is true, how can anyone expect the product to exist in 6 months to a year after it's release?

seems like professional (financial) suicide.. to make oneself look bad on the largest plugin/vsynth website on the net.. when you are developing plugins/vsynths. :o

Yeah he can forget it, and he can consider himself lucky that noone sues him. his non conventional way to make 'business' has to stop. I just hope that he'll have the decence to avoid coming back in few months with a sudden 'revelation'.

I just don't get why he didn't quietly start shopping it around to potential bidders instead of a messy, public meltdown! Companies get bought and sold all the time. Steinberg has changed hands twice in as many years, and it hasn't affected users at all (that I know of).

what's happened? What did I miss?

Post

Do you really want to know all the sorid details? It involves developers, personalities, money and musicians. Always a dangerous combo. It's a sad tale about a wonderful instrument and its gifted developer who seemingly shot the rabbit in spite of all our pleading.

And sadly the fate of the entire VST universe hangs in the balance. The story is about the Wusik engine running on empty and abandoned at the side of the virtual road, or it maybe that this is most melodramatic version 2 pre-release campaign since T2.

We'll know more after the season finale. Stay tuned.

am i going to need the secret decoder ring to unlock the mysteries of this episode?

Post

You need 'The' Ring. I fear this show will have more random plot twists than the Lost finale. And make about as much sense.
