This thing goes around in circles-weren't people getting pissed off about the dongle when the pages were only in the single digits??

There is no place to go with this company other than in circles, and the dongle is a circle jerk if there ever was one. So whip out your dongle and do a little push pull in unison with everybody else. Thats how it works. At least thats what I'm told. :)

I can vouch for that,,,my dongle is sore. :(

Instead of going around in circles with this company,I'd just go in a straight line over to NI...

AmericanMusical.com just told me that my GR2 is in the wharehouse being packed up for shipping. They did a low price match for me and I got the total package for $388.00.. :)

.. i´m having good fun with GR2 here, and am glad i got it. especially for weird effects (be it with a guitar or with another audiosource) its superb. also the bass-presets do a good job for me.
for conventional use of guitars its good as well of course, though i mainly used it for bass and spacey sounds till here.
only con i personally see is that its lacking a bit of "character". (or to put it with my words: it has the NI-sound. thats not a bad thing, but i always miss something when using their products.)

GR2 rocks i am interested in seing what AT2 brings as i was highly disapointed with the first one it sounded like dog shit on the hi gain stuff but GR2 have nailed it with this one i just need a better guitar and i need the pedal board and some better equipment and actualy be able to play properly and it would be perfect

I'm stuck, I've ordered the GR2 update but am also really interested in AT2. The current price of £150 seems for AT1 and AT2 seems really good, but I can't really justify that outlay without knowing what it will sound like. I also don't want the introductory offer to expire before they release the demos because I certainly won't buy at the full price.

You seriously think that GR2 sounds good on hi gain stuff?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAA

If a real amp ever sounded like that - I would expect it to be a shitty squier 10 watt amp.

The gain structure is appauling on GR2 (high gain that is)! I think the tweed and lo gain is spot on the mark, with the subtle bluesy break up - but NI should really sort out their shit with the real high gain stuff.

If you ever manage to get a sound similar to a deizel, engl or mark V then please post the clip! It would be most interesting if someone could do it. I find that the jcm and the boogie amps sound just buzzy and grainy on the lower strings (got a 7 string tuned to A.) And yes I have tweaked and tweaked and tweaked. The only way I can get even a remotely acceptable sound is to have rediculous rigs of 4 amps driven with several disto pedals on various settings using 2 splitters into maybe a total of 20 cabs to fill out the joke of a thin sound that the amps produce.

Needless to say this takes up about 70% cpu, and god help you if you try and go into High res mode...the sound is fuller but still not even comparable.

What I'm waiting to see is someone to nail a decent In Flames 5150, At the gates, Arch enemy or Meshuggah tone - THAT would be impressive.

Personally I still think that the simuanalog vst's blow any comercial high gain amp sim out of the water - the dynamics and gain structure are just more amp like and less "effecty"

To get my sound I use 3 tracks with the Simuanalog JCM panned hard left, an GR vox amp on lo gain in the middle for some dynamic capture of the guitar, and Izotope trash panned hard right - awsome cabinet and distorion possibilities.

I can get a pretty meaty stereo high gain sound, but it needed ALOT of tweaking, equing, compressing, multibanding and so on to get it ok, but I am still craving something better - I still dont think I can nail a decent meshuggah tone with my setup.

And dont tell me about the input - it really doesnt make THAT much of a difference - especially in high gain (ive tested it with a really decent tube DI box) and it doesnt make the slightest bit of difference at the distortion I'm talking about - but pre eq'ing is essential!
