des anyone know if I buy Kontakt 5 is it possible to get access to Kontakt 4 as well? Can I download and run previous versions?

Yeah, I'd be interested in knowing this too. I'm currently using Windows XP, and Windows 7 is the requirement. My system doesn't have available Windows 7 drivers...

'Fraid not. They are treated as different programs. You could try asking NI, but I wouldn't think so. You might find a Kontakt 4 box (or Komplete 6) at a retailer.

NI specify the minimum requirement as Windows 7 as that is the system it uses for testing. So, I would think, any problem when running it on XP would not be addressed. Kontakt 5 does run OK on Windows XP (as confirmed by EvilDragon). Why not try the K5 Player (it's the same software)?

Thanks for the info! It may not be a problem for me anymore. I originally was interested in NI's Scarbe funk guitar, but I may just get sugar bytes guitarist (My wife was feeling VERY VERY generous to me). What I'll do in the end remains to be seen though.
