Move the 'Save' button and the MIDI LED to where the Zebra logo is. Move the Zebra logo to the right next to the u-he logo. Move the Revision number back where it used to be. Now you can make the Zebra logo a bit bigger.

Spunkmuffin, it goes without saying that everyone here is free to provide their feedback. However, as a fellow user of this forum I personally find your way of presenting your opinions unnecessarily harsh and not particularly constructive.

Also, could you maybe refrain from double and triple posting and instead put all the relevant information in a single post? It just gets cluttered pretty quickly.

Again, I'm just a fellow forum user. I have no privileges or rights that go beyond yours. As such I perceive the way in which you state your feedback somewhat irritating and it lessons my experience of reading and engaging in discussion here.

I really like the look of the new skin. Not a radical departure, just a cleaned up modernized version of the old one. Suits me fine, as I like the usability of the old default skin. :tu:

No, I'm not. New knobs are betterer. :)

Hmmm. I must say that I liked the modulation knobs as vector knobs, as it was in the screenshots taken from the video. When all the knobs look the same, it's much harder see what's going on quickly.

However, I love the new placement of the knobs themselves. Keeping modulation on the bottom row of the modules is a brilliant choice. I also like the new color. It's natural, calming, and pleasing.

I'm glad to hear about plans to update ZebraHZ as well.

Do you have plans to incorporate the Diva modules into the main generator panel in the ZebraHZ update?

Simon-Claudius I acknowledge you don't like my style. However you have not said anything about my content. Why not do that?

Urs disagrees with you.:)

I also very much like where this new GUI is heading. I do agree with this part about the modulation sections:

Looks good...easy on the eyes, good for long time sound design tasks.

I didn't have to say much about it as what you said mostly comes down to personal taste. I understand that overall you're not a fan of the new GUI, which is perfectly fine with me.

If I had to say anything, I would point out that "Ugly.", "Yuck!", "Boring!" and "NOT COOL!" are non-constructive and inappropriately condemning. I'm not saying that you didn't provide potentially useful feedback (such as your point about the vector knobs), I'm merely pointing out that your way of communicating your distaste may offend or irritate forum members other than just me.

what i like is osc layout, the small things like the way filter type is also visually represented and the layouts etc seem clearer.

not a fan of the DIVA knobs, even in DIVA they are secondary. do the "eyelashes" provide any important information? if they would, then why so imprecise. they don't need to look like that just to follow a classic synth design language like DIVA. i am also for the vectors for modulation.

i suppose it is very adult looking with the colours (hmm...) and all, it even grew wooden sidepanels. maybe it would be easy on the eyes tho. to me personally it looks unnecessarily vintage but i suppose that does not really matter, and there probably will skinners like LFO8 here, whose asylum 2.0 skin i have been using (cause it has different text colour for the modulation)

but yeah, anyway... great that you are on it!

But the new little black preset triangles on either side of the main display ARE boring! How would you describe them? The old ones were interesting and fun without being obtrusive. They had character - the new ones do not. Boring is a very appropriate descriptor!

As for "Yuck! and "Ugly." please let me quote my original post:
spunkmuffin wrote:Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! The old vector knobs are gone! That's terrible! The new little knobs have little increment lines drawn all around them. Ugly. It makes them look like little sea urchins or naval mines. I don't want to touch them. Yuck!
Notice the humour there? I said something difficult that needed to be said and I did it with with humour, and wit! Clever aren't I?

NOT COOL! That's the colour scheme. Just look at it! Beige and brown and ochre and umber. Deeply uninspiring!

In every case my descriptions are spot on. :tu:

Tbh I'm also not a huge fan of many of the changes made.

Faux Wooden Sides? Really!?

Also the oldschool/'analog' knobs Straight from Diva....hmm I always kinda disliked these knobs. Now they are in Zebra. :(

I know its a taste thing, and its your baby.... Also I know a lot of its tech comes from analog emulation but to me Zebra always felt more like a modern Futuristic, even sci-fi synth, and the GUI felt much more appropriate as such.
I guess the continued research into emulation is finding its way increasingly into your GUI elements, but I have to say I wish it wasn't so.

Also I had a feeling there was going to more Graphical representation of stuff like Envelopes and LFO's in the new GUI, I'm sure I read more than once that this was the GUI to compete with modern synths like Serum...?
Not seeing that at all I'm afraid, but maybe I just mis-understood.

There is a lot I DO like about this GUI, a lot of things are just 'clearer', and more logical like the Sync, reset etc controls on the Osc tab.
Still super excited to play with 2.8 and of course 3 no matter what shape it takes.

I actually like Zebra 2 knobs too - they have better/faster visual recognition

They're too thin to even look like chopsticks. :D
