Both my FantomX7 and PCR-300 worked and there was no problem using the midi learn with sliders and knobs.
I do'nt own the Vmachine anymore but it already worked with the first firmware

Did you connect the PCR-300 via MIDI or USB? I suspected that the PCR series would work fine with the A/C adapter and a MIDI cable but it sounds like MIDI over USB doesn't work.

Any keyboard which is 100% usb "class complient" should work with the vmachine so check with the keyboard manufacturer if the keyboard follows the class complient specs.

There is a feature in the Vmachine which some users may not know about. If your keyboard is connected via 5 pin midi cable, and the Vmachine is connected to your host computer with a USB cable then the Vmachine will pass the midi along to your host machine.

This means you dont need to unplug your keyboard to and fro from the vmachine to the computer to audition new banks in the vfx software. Very handy. Some keyboards can be powered via usb and still be used via the 5 pin midi din.

I think it was USB but I'm not sure. As far as I remember I USB connected the PCR300 and the fantomX7 with midi at the same time.

I'm quite happy so far with the Vmachine, using it mostly to play M Tron Pro and String Machine live. However, the load time on their soundbanks is long. At the moment i've just got a basic Crucial 8GB Gizmo USB stick which holds the vmachine's banks/plugs. Can anyone recommend a good USB stick which might give faster loading times? I can afford up to about 80£ ...thanks

Personally for all testing I use an external 320gb HDD 2.5" SATA 7200 rpm. These are usb bus powered so no power point is needed and are so small they can be taped under the vmachine.

HDD's need to be defragged for some plugins to run well.
Flash does not need to be defragmented, but could be slower than a HDD.

If you want to test the speed of a drive then heres two interesting programs.

Shows what speed you will get when formatted with different block sizes. In the case of mtron pro which has a 4gb library file you will probably benefit greatly from a large block size. If your key has a small block size your going to not be using the full speed of the drive.

an easier to use program.

Although not the cheapest variant, but replacing the internal solid-state drive with a larger one surely benefits the speed of loading. Too bad the internal drive is IDE, not SATA, and I'm glad this is gonna be different with V-Rack.

Must be soon cause comes concurence need it
A core 2 duo must be expected

Post

You can't really expect for a Core2Duo to fit in such small box, with a dedicated cooler. Have you seen how big those coolers are?

Post

that would be the george foreman v-machine grill.

i think a new firmware upate is more important. there are some basic feature missing. but youre right, a cpu upgrade would be nice....

I can't agree!

When you are not able to create (and play it!!!) a decent bank with piano/hammond just becouse of the low CPU power...well this upgrade must be considered...a fix!
