It's not just a synth but one of the best ever created. There are no direct replacements. It's not like if Sylenth 1 suddenly became unavailable as it does have several replacements.Astralv wrote:This is not that serious. It just one plug in. Yeah, it sux they closed, but we can live just fine without this one plugin. In case your computer dies and you do not have the installer- oh, well. Will use other hundreds of plugins. I have it for a year- I used it may be five times. You talking about it like your favorite pet died and you want to preserve the body in formaldehyde to have memories of it. No tragedy. There will be more plugins. I keep buying them and so far I was not able to have them all.
I have made sounds in Alchemy that I just could not make in any other synth I own or have tried and that's just about all of them.
I read in another forum some people who do ambient music/film work use it in every project so for them losing Alchemy could be a big loss.
But having said that as long as my studio computer doesn't die I'll still be using Alchemy for quite some time or hopefully until I retire from music.
We still don't know for sure if Alchemy is dead of if it's just Camel Audio or whatever the future holds.
