Bye.
Yeah my solution is for you to go into the midi in/out on your track and select the asio channel that matches your input such as mic or line in, also located on the track is the input echo switch make sure thats switch to the on position.

I was using WDM drivers with my old Audigy card but have switch to there new X-Fi Line which is reported to be 300 times more powerful lol, Im not gonna back up that claim but I will say that with this new Creative card im getting less than 1ms latency which is like using hardware. it also improves the sound of commercial CDs and Cds you burn by using some new technique, that I can really hear the difference in sound. quite a amazing sound card.

To answer the earlier question "Does Sonar 5 native Vsti support have to scan in every time like Cubase?"
No.

Sonar only will rescan if you install new plugins but Sonar5 starts instantly and I have alot of plugs and effects.

Less than 1ms?? With softsynths and multitrack audio?? I can't even select anything lower than 4ms on my Echo card. You sure about that?

I really like SX3.

Me too. It gives me lots of snuggles at night.

I really like SX3
I really am amazed at the diversity of human perceptions. SX3 I found to be the worse program I have ever tried, period worse than Logic 5. Awkward and bizarre implementation that in Sonar are to me are as easy as I can conceive. Oh well definitely different strokes for different folks.

I also really like SX3, moreso than Sonar4 at the moment. A lot of it must be just what "clicks" for you.

For my set up yes im at 1 ms but others may vary.
Heres a quote from the creative site ---> Audio Creation Mode

Advanced Audio Conversion Engine
The Creative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio processor features an SRC engine that is 300 times more precise than the previous Sound Blaster solutions and can convert any audio to any resolution at near transparency with 136dB THD+N.

Lowest Latency ASIO Recording
Experience the most precise audio recording capabilities in any class with ASIO recording that has latency as low as one millisecond with zero CPU load.

Advanced Features and Effects for Music and Audio Creation
Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum supports up to eight different 24-bit hardware effects, unprecedented hardware synthesis capabilities, 24-bit SoundFont sampling, and 3DMIDI recording for the first time.

Im happy that I can convert existing CDs to reburn them to a better sound quality , which is nothing short of fantastic as far as im concerned, Also the sound quality can be heard in other sources as long as you have it run thru this new proccesor they have then burn it to a new medium.

For sure. For me, I practically have to call in the National Guard to help me get a DXi going in Sonar. And I used Sonar until v3! It just depends on what you know; everything else feels like crap.

Thanks for getting back to me about this. I've read the copy about X-Fi - what I'm wondering is what kind of composition can you run at that low a latency? Are you running softsynths and multitrack audio in a host? How many?

Correct, as was noted earlier in this thread, it is 20%-40% better.
