What pisses me off is when people stereotype religion based on extremists or on one major leader. I don't like the Pope either. But I'm Christian, not Catholic. And I don't like the TV evangelists for the most part. They give Christians a bad name. I don't like people who kill "because God told them so".

I don't mean to imply that all believers are evil: on the contrary, I think they are basically good people who have been tricked into thinking that their innate goodness comes from an external force. The next step is to persuade that person to ignore their own sense of right and wrong by convincing them that "the devil can speak to you in your own voice"..

IIR, this isn't directly at you necessarily. But it's a rant about KVR in general. Now, about preventing people from being "brainwashed" is a little bit unfair. First, you've stated it all as a mystery. Well, a mystery means it could be true, and may not be.

Yes it might be true (though I personally find it highly unconvincing). I only object to people who assert that they know.

All this aside, IIR. I do respect you musically tremendously, and I'll be working on your song tonight! Yes, it's a hard part, so we'll see how it goes. Any particular reason you are doing the song? Or just to see if you can. Doing a cover, perhaps?!?! I'll let you know how it turns out!

I look forward to hearing you play Its one of a batch of backing tracks I am helping a friend with (for his girlfriend's live set) he was going to do them all but he's on tour and won't have time: they told me it was all Motown, which I suppose is strictly true, but I was thinking "Sugar Pie" this one is a lot more difficult than I was really anticipating , but thats ok I'm enjoying it so far!

And also you have to remember that it may bother you when people claim they "know" the truth, that you are doing the same thing, and so it's easy to create a double standard. It's a common problem. Most people will be that way. It doesn't mean they are wrong. It doesn't mean they are ill. But like I said, you SHOULD think that what you believe is fact, or you really don't believe, do you?

It does go both ways though. You can't ask someone not to speak of something as a fact, but still want to state your own opinion as fact. It just comes down to accepting that we just have to agree to disagree. I think we've wasted enough space in a topic about flangers in a forum about Tracktion. It's all good though. At least it's stayed relatively civil, which is something that wouldn't have happened in the general public of KVR!

Yuk. Quoting scripture is not a very effective way to prove faith and love. Plus, that quote is so vague that it could be interpreted any number of ways. Since every English translation is abyssmally inaccurate anyhow, it could have simply meant, "Don't use foul language." Although, I guess that doesn't contradict you-- it still shows that he's concerned about what we say, but maybe not in the same sense as previous posters were meaning.
