I'n almost always online (the cpu-consumption is minimal) for about two years now - never had any problems apart from sasser when I once temporarily disdabled Sygate and I rarely need to use Antivir... :wink:

Of course I know about the ways to secure a PC. The point in question is different : A DAW contains lots of valuable data (well, mine does, I hope yours does, too), so why on earth should you potentially put them at risk ?
Would you buy a car without airbag because you don't plan to crash anyway ?
The paranoia is with Magix, not with the cautious people like me.

dunno what you mean - my fireweall notices and catches anything that goes in and out and asks me if I allow the connection - so what harm could there be? - for me it's still just common mass-paranoia... :shrug:

Can it be used together with a hardware firewall? Often there are conflicts with soft and hard firewalls.
