@Pocvecem
I think this is cause of the old preset bug.
There are some noisy presets which, without reason, goes out of oversampling, they were made in previous versions, so doesn't work properly on this 1.5.3
I mean if by default is oversampling x1, those presets would be perfectly 0.5 or even less. So sounds like disto-crap.
V'ger showed me that.

For download the fixed banks, go here and download the third file. The one called '1.5.3 bad banks fixed'. I think it should works. a bit late by the way, sorry :oops:

@evo2slo
Lol at tiny words.
You are welcome. You don't need to say thanks really, i like to help. :tu:
Anyway, you all can call me just Irion. It's easier.
sly fly wrote:you're welcome. good to know the high hats worked out for you.

I think half the time I spent on the song, I was searching for a way to get a high hat sound that I would like. I eventually gave up. :?
@sly fly
Well, the same happened to me when looking for some drum presets, which are, as Bzur said, terrible :lol:
But in my second track i used some built-in effects so i got some nice and powerful drum parts.

A hint: To make those hats brighter, use the render option to high, and oversampling x2.

@Satyatunes
I hope you can finish your project in time, i want to listen it.

Have a good day :)

you actually provided the solution with the fixed v13 bank. there are 2 fine hats in it.

i should have thought to go take a look at kvr ressources . there's plenty of stuff for zeta there, like some nice looking skins.

for those still in it, i highly suggest downloading "Factory Category (final version)" by Capdan. It adds prefixes to the presets, ie PAD, KEY, ARP, etc. VERY useful

Astronauts on Mars discover the ruins of an ancient forest. It's a barren site with thousands of tall dead petrified tree stumps. Then one astronaut sees a shimmer in the distance. They walk toward it.. the walls of an ancient hidden city appears...

Hey Mike (aka Arpeggiator-man) nice to see you here! :)
You finished a track finally for this month.
Let me listen to your track right now!

Have a good day :)

If we reach 15 tracks, i will submit my second one, anyway i'm still thinking is worst than my actual entry, imo.

Nice story. And possibly not so sci-fi if you read all the stuff about salt water and possible nuclear radiation signatures from a nuke fallout over 200m years ago. Looking forward to hearing this one.

Hi everyone,

I am new around the OSC forum... so far my mischief has been limited to the monthly music contest at the KVR Music Cafe forum...

A feww days ago I found out that OSC this month was featuring Z3ta and I thought about entering. However, I was quickly disapointed: there is no Z3ta+2 demo and the demo of the previous version seems also to have disapeared from the Cakewwalk website.

Being new to the OSC forum, it is perhaps not for me to say... also, my appologies if I am posting this question / request in the wrong forum... (I'm new here, guys :D )

I saw some posts by people unhappy that OSC was featuring a commercial synth this month... I think that is fine, but I would ask that at least there is a demo available.
This would give participants the option of trying to put together a music piece using the demo OR at least to try the demo before buying the synth.

Is this a fair request for future OSC chalanges ?

Post

One person has already entered a piece using the demo only, so there's one available somewhere.

Fair point AlienXXX, but there was a demo for the 1.5 version at competition start. Looks to be gone after the v2 release tho, but difficult to foresee that would happen.. :shrug:

Hello everyone :)

I still have one day to finish the track.
Sorry but didn't have time to check all posts within this thread.. did quickly check some of them though and read the rules + I'm familiar with this contest quite a bit so.. hope I'm not missing anything. :D
Voters must have had 20 prior forum posts or participated in that month's contest
That's true for this thread or 20 post in KVR general?

The rules are saying something about not using modulation effects ...
TAL Chorus-60 or VOS NastyDLA won't modify the sound beyond recognition.. am I allowd to use those?

Total KVR forum posts, not just this thread.

Any Chorus is out, but NastyDLA is ok as long as chorus and modulation are not used.

Well, there is another new track in the SoundCloud group. But KX is missing in action, i hope he comes soon with the entry text. I dropped a line in his Soundcloud track.

We got 13 tracks for now.
If Bzur uploads the second track as he said, and someone any other to get 15 songs, i will submit my second one then.

@V'ger
Did you made a track for this month?

Have a good day.

I can't get onto my music making computer at the moment so don't know how many copies of zeta I used. Mine was made in FL Studio though, and was only Zeta and one of the bundled EQs I think. Will update in a bit :)

OK, edited with info:

Kx.001 - Reticulous:

FL Studio.
12 instances of Zeta 1.5
3 instances of Fruity Parametric EQ 2
Lots of internal effects from Zeta

Then normalised and compressed into MP3 in Audacity.
