At this point: yes.
If it's changing, i'll clearly message about it.

My M3UL key is invalid for the M4. My usual luck!

It should work without problem. I assume you're using an older key..?

Please lets sort this out via email, as we can't post keys here publicly.

mutools wrote:And what would you prefer: MULAB and SESSION in 1 panel as it is now, or in separate panels
I feel menus should be grouped on a menu bar. It's a common and expected idiom of user interface design. That's "as it is now" :).

MULAB looks after the whole application.
SESSION looks after the session being edited.
TRANSPORT also works at the session level, really, but is only one aspect of the session.
FOCUSSED MODULE is finer-grained than TRANSPORT.
Just FYI: Focussed Module is also a session-level thing.
Yes, that's how I saw it.

I'm happy with menus being "stuck" to the main window; tools, however, should be freely positionable across the entire desktop area (not just within the application main window).
Which 'tools' you mean?
I consider the transport controls one set of related tools grouped onto a panel and similarly for the focussed module panel. I should really have referred to the tool grouping, rather than the individual tools themselves (start, record, etc). It is a common UI idiom to be able to position toolboxes (i.e. panels containing related tools) freely.
mutools wrote:Do you mean that the transport and focussed module panels should not be inside the session window but be free floating tool windows?
So I guess that's a "yes". (Some UI toolkits treat menus as tool panels, so the menu bar would also be freely positionable; I'm not so keen on that myself.)

Updated M4 test version in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/cedar/
OSX version on its way.

NB: Very ill atm, so i'm only doing the most essential things now towards finalizing M4. Other things can be done in M4.x etc. Looking forward to recovery and full speed action again.

Thanks for the update. Take it easy please until you feel better. Hope you get well soon!

I've started to put MuDrum and MuSynth to good use here lately and I really like them very much! :tu:

Also started to have a go at SynthEdit lately and already was able to make my own little VA and FM synths, so finally I might give a deeper investigation at the MUX environment soon too :D

Jo... the new knobs in MuDrum are very ugly... :? 8)

Sorry bout that, i must have been hallucinating by the meds ;)
I've updated the M4067 package, it contains a more 'normal' knob.
M4 skin will be further finetuned soon.

Enjoy the modular world, it's a fantastic adventure!

I'm curious for how you will compare the SynthEdit and MUX modular environments! Please let me know.

Everything seems to work well in the new version :tu: .
No glitches no big stuff to complain about but there are two things I would like to ask:
1 - The metronome sound is piercing my eardrums. Really.
2 - The old buttons seemed much more "serious" and professional, kind of making a statement "we don't try to look "vintage" or "real life copy", we are good the way we are".

I've been working in places where health issues regarding music were a great concern. I had to take ear exams twice a year and got educated to understand about those issues.
Really, the high pitched loud harsh sound is affecting badly the hearing. Record several hours with the click track and at the end of the recording session you'll find out that you lost permanently 3 db from the high frequency range of your hearing.

Sorry if my feedback is not really on the technical side.

I'm curious about which knobs you guys are tallking about that you like and don't like.

I liked the knobs that where light grey with the black edge and with the thin red line on them.

Now they are completely black 2D-ish with a thick red line on them. I find those quite ugly tbh, so I went back to the previous 4.0.67 version :D

I understand your remark and will include a more natural sound.

Note however that you can choose any sound you like by right-clicking the metronome button.

Then you can save the session as default session.

Skin is not yet ready indeed.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks, first question.. :)

How do start a new completely empty MUX/Editor environment?
