Sub Phatty is quite awesome sounding, yes.

I hate that they only put 16 presets in it.

Previously when I pointed out that Diva's minimoog sounds bright compared to Creamware Minimax, you said it was modeled from Hans Zimmer's unusually bright minimoog and that you preferred the bright sound. I think before you model unusually bright or aggressive minimoogs, you should first nail an average minimoog since that's what most people are expecting.

Well - they did model the filter too
No auto tune...

No.
Native Instruments Monark is a monophonic VSTi synth, which is beyond stupid.

I disagree.

How do you disagree?
What exactly is not absolutely stupid about a monophonic VSTi-synth?

Also, the demos sound rather digital to me. In fact it's the typical NI Sound imo.

Dunno. Why werent folk all over it, bitching, when Sugar Bytes Cyclops came out? Is it just because this one is by NI?

I just have nothing against that decision, for authenticity. Also knowing how Reaktor isn't multicore capable, having it polyphonic would probably kill any CPU faster than Diva.

It also doesn't sound digital to me at all.

So you deny that it is interesting to chilly7? Are you his custodian? Honestly, you're entitled to have any opinion you want to have about this, but please, respect the opinion of others on this too, thanks.

Talking of monophonic, as already said, they got to have a reason for it. Otherwise i would not know why one would implement such a restriction. It doesn't seem logical at all, as the major advantage of software is that it is only restricted by calculation power. I guess it is quite a CPU hog, even being monophonic. :P

Edit: This makes sense to me:

The reason why it is monophonic is because of the core based filters , setting reaktor to poly mode will just frie the cpu .
So I guess that the core based filters will be immensely complex
It is known that the core equivalents of primary modules take up more cpu cycles when set to poly ode ( especially filters ) .
Math modules in core are less cpu expensi
I can't get my head around the fact why ni moddeled the filters in core ( rumour goes that the core macros will be locked for us users )instead of low levell c++ and just give us some new improved primary filters ..
Eyeball exchanging
Soul calibrating ..frequencies

I think its just a change of development model. The last new fully-native synth from NI was Massive, wasnt it? That was 2006, and even then their prototyping model was Reaktor-ish. Since then, they've settled on their foundation products, and all their new 'synth' products have been Reaktor based. I think Kore2 and 64-bit caused them to realise the problems of being so reliant on having multiple codebases, doing major synth products with Reaktor allows them to expand their range of products with less dependecies and development overheads.

Probably because nobody noticed that one.

Ah ok, so the "reason" is, that it's a CPU hog?
Even then it makes no sense, since there will be faster CPUs in the future.

Also if Reaktor isn't multithreadable it would be wiser to fix that, instead of making a synth monophonic because of it.

because its clearly an either/or situation.

Did Cyclops tease before hand that it was going to be a revolution in synthesis and that it would be one synth to rule them all?

Authenticity? I thought it was supposed to be revolutionary? I don't think it can be both revolutionary and completely authentic, they are pretty much opposite. ;)

I also don't think one synth can rule any other synths if it can't play chords.
