Taking the synth for a spin now. Looks powerful !
Good luck :tu: Just remember to use a decent limiter on the master as this one goes "off the reservation" rapidly and often. Maybe live does this by default? Not sure.

Other than that it's really good.

Hi all,

Little update - voices eq'd up out of the mud. Bit of compression on the bass, rebalanced the shaker/tambourine and some of the voices in various sections. The "bass" voice gets a little more kind treatment at the end of some phrases - hehe.

Also, just to point out, I did not use the speech capability at all, just a sawtooth + the formant filter (enveloped taste!).

Hope you like the small, but significant changes.

Does BR808 come with a manual? None was present on the download...

Can't really hear any difference in the remake but still sounds great.

Hard to believe that's not the vocal osc. Amazing what you did with the formant.

You made some good points :tu:

That part of the rules needs some clarification.

Hi Brian!

The OSC BR808 group image is still MUX! :dog: Wanna change it?? Hehe - I know you're busy and have been away.

Cheers, dooby doowap,

Oh well, perhaps that's a good thing :) - the tambourine was not in the original, also the vox mix is quite subtle, but the bass and tenor voices get a little boost at the end of some of the phrases, almost like an answer to the main melody voice, if that make *any* sense at all. :hihi:

Thanks Steven. I may still re-work some of the voices to make them a little more distinct. But, in the true sense of the BSQ, the voices should really meld together in perfect harmony. :tu:

Keep smiling, :) :) :) :)

PS. Changed the panning to widen the vocals (as per a suggestion from my man mehum), also reworked the guitar sounds to cut a little more (suggestion from the same person!).

Hey, dB! That's just so impressive to me! I mean, not really because of the formant fun, which is cute, but kinda gets a little...hmmm...one dimensional after some time. Should've replaced a middle section with some sort of sax or flutes or so, just to mix it up. I'm just so impressed, because of the clarity of the style, the doowop identity, the swing, the rest of the arrangement. I wouldn't know where to begin to pull off something like that. It's very, very cool to me! 8-)

GREAT JOB and best of luck for sure!

You know, I shouldn't add too much more, but let me just tell you: you're showing that it really mustn't be about "winning" the OSC, but to showcase what you've got, and what you've got, you've got in spades, mate! LOVE IT! Nobody can take that away from you, but I believe you know that anyway! ;)

(By the way, my synth has a formant section, too, hehe! Hmmmm...is that a plug?!?) :D

I may still do that - I wasn't sure - I was thinking of some sort of comedic interplay with the different voices, but don't really have time and given it's only 1:55 I thought that the voices and the variant articulations/mixes (albeit subtle) may just have been enough to keep interest!

Hey, thanks for that - from you I really appreciate it. I've gone back over my last year or so's entries - quite a variety of styles now ... all been fun!

Interesting ... a good thing to have - gotta have lots of control of the parameters eh?

It's pretty nuts already- my synth I mean- the stuff I just hooked up. Pfff... I realized how easy it would be to hook up all modulation types (AM, FM, RM, PM)...so I just did, haha. Considering the amount of influence one has now, the interface looks pretty clean, I think. I still have to add midi controller routing, but aside from that it's really super close to being done.
(Oh, wag, I've made it pretty much twice as big, by the way!) :)

As for musical styles...hmmm...that's really the weird thing about me; I have no clue what "style" I'm really making. I really have never cared to learn any specific styles, which renders me unable to simply do one clear style. That weird weakness/choice makes me admire those, who can do them "just like that". That's awesome to me!

No.

RichardSemper wrote: Also, has anyone tried the multi-out version? I tried it but i have no idea how to route the output sounds. I tried it in mulab and was able to get the summed sound output to work, but when output individual channels left or right i get either nothing (left) or odd noises (right) - this was in the daw's modular area.
Multi-out version is the only one that works for me in Reaper.
Didn't try it with MuLab though.

I see the KarmaFX synth has a 30 day free trial download. Possible for OSC?

CPU usage is bouncing around from 8 to almost 50 at random, while idle and no notes playing...
This is just on the default init patch that comes with the plugin.
Anyone experienced this problem with FL studio?

Sounds intriguing... if you don't mind, I'd like to know about your experience with it (post it here preferably: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4305672)
