U-He have a nice unobtrusive one on Presswerk:

So much so that not many know that it even has that functionality (it's the black strip on the top right under 'mix' set of controls)

What is your OS and graphics card? Does it have the latest drivers?

This might be fixed in the latest development branch for the future v0.4.0 release, or at least it'll tell you more information about why the application isn't launching.

FYI:

Today I updated the drivers for my iConnectMidi2+, which includes a Visual C++ 2013 redistributable package, when I start VCVrack now all my audio devices appear.

Feature request:

Revised listing of Audio / MIDI and component devices ( add sublists ).
See screenshot of my Audio devices in previous post and below my current component list, got a FHD screen resolution.

2 possible solutions until next release is out.
1) max your screen resolution (I believe you already did)
2) delete some plugins folder, mine for example .... or those useless Befaco/AudibleInstruments

I really enjoy this! It really feels like Eurorack. Perfect for when I am away from my studio and want to scratch the itch.

I actually work for Paul at the moment on the WaveEdit application, so I probably have the most leverage on that, but he still only barely let me port the Cloud Generator. He just discontinued the Morphing Terrarium officially, so I'll maybe bring it up again after the project's done.

Just something I made while testing, CPU is usage about 40% ( i5 6600k ).

Requirements: Autodafe modules.
What is it?: A drumbeat, bass and the modal OSC ( Very nice Oscillator btw! ).

Press RUN on the top left SEQ-3, adjust the tempo at the bottom right LFO frequency knob:
