And now, the lfo's are at audio rate!
Vojtech fix bugs and implement new features at audio rate:)
Chandler, About the medal bank, how have you constructed it? With 64 BP in parallel?
If you have some information about the tuning, please, share them !
About the exciter, it's a noise or some samples?
I think, Msf is ready for release.
The full mpe implementation is a big plus.
I hope, Vojtech will implement more generators, like a big sampler, a granular osc....

Whywhy - I only made it as a proof of concept, so I only used 6 BP filters in parallel. I was suprised that it didn't sound terrible with so few. It sounds a bit like a marimba. I'll post the code for it down below.
You can see what I did inside the preset when you load it up. I just used white noise and an envelope as the exciter although I tried using a drum sample and that worked too. Of course the filters follow the pitch which makes things easy, so for the turnings I just used octaves and 5ths. The filters now aren't really meant for this, so dialing in 5th, 9th, etc is kind of a pain. If you use other intervals you can get more metallic sounds which is really cool. I just tried playing a vocal sample through it and that produces a cool metallic vocal sound. Anyway I hope this can be made into a module, so it is 1). easier to use 2) lighter on CPU 3). Has global partial/modal control. The ability to detune/set multiple modes at the same time and maybe even morph them would be cool. I don't know if there is time to implement this now, but hopefully in the future there will be.

I really missed this thread, ouch!
@nichttuntun
Great soundscapes / pads. Niceeeee! And by the way: greetings from germany, hehe.
I am realy thrilled what other modules Vojtech will implement and I am even more thrilled about all your presets later, people!

Well, I tried something in MPS and now I wonder, if this could be done in MSF. This is a MPS preset:
I set up a random MOD to the "By Note Frequency" in the Filter of MPS. The behaviour is: when the note is once triggered THIS state is used for that note. I could not achieve this in MSF without the filter sweeps for an already played note. So now I wonder, if this could be a bug, or am I missing something?
Moreover: I did not know where to post this and now I am psoting this here and I feel bad, since this is not a bug thread. Maybe it could be an option to have a distinct beta testign subforum for the beta testers only, Vojtech? Or Luke?

This is very interesting, I hope this Synth becomes like the response to halion or falcon, full of possibilities and endless capabilities, Melda has a lot of innovative stuffs, personally I don't care that much about the gui but I can understand the people.

I dont understand the GUI complaints.
Ok in the old days it wasnt great but these days I cant believe there isnt at least one theme these users would like.
I dont think they understand these plugin GUIs are based on an underlying framework which allows Voj to concentrate on the actual plugin rather than having to spend time on a GUI.
This is what helped him to pump out plugins at an alarming rate back in the day
I personally really like the Titanium, very clean and pro looking.

And of course we all know that a massive amount of generic plugins with a generic ui and a generic workflow in a short time is what mattersVariKusBrainZ wrote:This is what helped him to pump out plugins at an alarming rate back in the day

So you advocate a different workflow for every plugin, interesting

Yes of course a comp needs another workflow than an eq or a synth because you simply use them differently... There were good points in here and in the other threads that workflow or ui is not only about hyper realistic high res graphics but also about what information is placed where with which priority and so on. Anyways too much offtopicVariKusBrainZ wrote:So you advocate a different workflow for every plugin, interesting

I really like the melda ui.
In a modular environment, it's perfect, you can have access to all modules on the same page, via pop up windows, it saves a lot of mouse clicks and it allows to see all what you need.
If you have a 4k, it's really great or user some shortcuts for navigating..
Copy and paste is a blast !
And the good things about that, it's the user who made his own ui via pop up or edit screen.
Lot of flexibility with the melda system.

For coming back to the topic,
Chandler, you modal idea is really great, I have made a patch with 18 BP plus some delay and filters diffusion, it sounds pretty good. A kind of element module could be a great addition.
The new envelopes modulation parameters, like decay...assign to keytrack per voices works well for natural kind of sounds.
With a global unison/voices offset, like I try to describe before, it could make this kind of stuff more easy. But it's another story...

I have a sound design question based on total ignorance, hopefully someone can help me.
Can velocity be used to control the various stages of an envelope?
I'm picturing an extremely versatile patch that is a pad at low velocities and a lead at medium and a pluck at the highest velocity.
Is it possible? If not, could MSF apply velocity to the attack stage of an envelope, lengthening or shortening the attack time?

Yes, all AHDSR stages, with depth from -100% to +100%. And there is a transformation curve graph too.
