Hive 2 Installed fine here, I moved the old Hive out of the vst path,
and installed the new one. Some great new sounds, just a handfull of them
are worth far more than the upgrade price, and even a new favorite
from Howard is well worth the price in terms of ongoing happiness,
and musical potential.

This upgrade seems more like a gorgeous thankyou card sent
from U-he to a happy customer, than something I paid money for :ud:
Greatly appreciated !

If only this had been explained in the emails I received which incorrectly pointed me to old files, I wouldn't have wasted the last 1-2 hours chasing my own tail. Could someone make this clearer somehow ?
Here's what I did.

First of all, I clicked the link on page 1 and from the pdf document that opened, I clicked on the rounded button that said 'Upgrade for 20 Euro'. Used my paypal account and bought it that way. Uhe's email for the serial code was sent to my outlook spam folder rather than the regular one. Downloaded the Hive 2.0 RC version on page one, but before installing it, I copied both the original hive.dll and the contents of the hive.data folder to another drive, because it has everything that has been created for Hive, patches, image files ect. With that backed up, I deleted both the original hive.data folder and hive.dll for version 1.2 in my VST folder location I then installed 2.0 and registered it vie opening the plugin.

Don't try and mix different plugin installations and don't create duplicate installations in different folders in the location where you keep your VST's. You'll end up having problems and potential conflict issues.

As glokraw wrote above. The best thing is that it would look like a second gift (1) is looming with Zebra3.

(1) "Gift" is "poison" in German :D

Found a little buggy with the FG's Input menus: 'none' is missing in the list of available input sources. It is visible by default in the init patch, but if I change the Input to a different source then I can't go back to 'none'. Probably just a theme issue.

I have to report another bug.
The pan width parameters of presets programmed with v.1.5 are completely wrong in v.2.0

Just to clarify, I can buy Hive 1.2 from a retailer and get the 2.0 update for free? I just don't want to get stuck paying $20 more to upgrade.

(I did read the pdf on the first page, but since I'd be using Plugin Boutique, I just want to make sure since I'm not sure how the license emails work...my first U-He purchase!)

Same here. I've really grown to love Satya's Tranquil Gray skin for Hive 1.2 and I hate giving it up but he did say he'll be working on a Hive 2 skin.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the new default I just find Tranquil Gray more visually appealing. But in order to get the new features it's worth changing. I've already been editing the RC skin to suite my tastes.

Looking forward to upgrading next week. :tu:

This solution works for me too, thank you very much, now the scope visualiser and WT display are totally smooth.

Yeah, that might be possible. "None" is internally normalised to Gate anyway IIRC, we might just put it on Gate by default.

That would certainly have occurred to us as we have a tool that "listens" to sound changes between versions. Nevertheless, we'll check this out! Do you have an example preset where this is obvious?

Yes, but for anyone buying Hive 1 between now and release of Hive 2, adding the free upgrade happens manually. Meaning: It may take a few days to appear.

Oi! Which browser/os do you use?

AFAIK any www. prefix will be redirected to u-he.com automatically. Would like to test that with what you use.

Ok after using new hive, only 2 thing that pops about about the GUI:

1. Browser font somehow feels too small
2. Not a fan of sandy grain effect on grey panels (i also remember on previous gui mockup there was no effect?). But im not a fan of that effect at all on any media :-D except on video games as it hides some inperfections :)

I will try today, this may be why my Hive 2 starts to stutter when its alone in an empty project. I already had Hive 1 on something like 130% because of big screen so Hive 2 kept those settings, never occured to me to test it on 100% size. Im on mac/logic.
