Can’t even overwrite factory presets. And whose giant handprint is that on the right side of the GUI? Was there a homicide in the room with synth? The GUI and overall Ux with Softube plugins is definitely lacking. Sounds nice though.
Let's not forget that not everybody is using the same machine and OS that you are.

I have no idea what you use, but I can tell you that on my machine and OS (Mac OS Mojave) and on my 4k monitor, it's super smooth, I can make it tiny and then drag it so that it fills up my entire monitor and it looks super sharp, crystal clear and smooth every step of the way. Everything is sharp as can be when I have maximized it to fill up my entire screen, including the GUI and the text.

Wait a sec - it's blurry for me too and I just thought it was like Waves and I just had to deal with the blurriness. I'm on Catalina. When I enlarge both Model 84 and 72 they get un-sharp and the browser text is blurry. Same thing goes for the effects plugins. But what's also weird is that my enlarged size doesn't get retained, but just for 84 and 72 - the effects keep their size.

So you're telling me that Softube plugins are sharp and crisp when enlarged? Cuz that is not my experience.

Maybe my eyesight is bad, but I don't think that it looks blurry to me. I took a screenshot of what it looks like on my screen when fully enlarged in a Logic session.

I can see that the text in your presets browser is slightly blurry.

I took a screenshot of what mine looks like with the presets browser open like in your picture.

Thought I would tip-toe into this walking-on-eggshell-esque thread to make the comment that mine is blurry too. Actually, it was one of the first things I noticed while demoing (still am). Turned off Live's hidpi mode thinking it would help, but the graphics are still blurry when the GUI is sized to anything other than default. I am on a 2560x1600 display.

The GUI, overall, just looks as if it's a bad scan, like off a scanner. Text and graphics aren't sharp to begin with. So when GUIs are like this, similar to Waves' abomination of resizable GUIs, then there really isn't a point to resize them. Maybe if you wish to see the slider you're moving on a screen mounted on the wall in front of the mixing console, but that's about it.

And yes, the dirty AF "panels"--totally see the finger prints now!--is a little weird, but I guess it adds to that vintage authenticity. :ud:

Juno-106s have been going for about $2300-2500. Model 84's intro price is $99. So if someone really wants an almost spot-on Juno-106 emulation (with confidence) for 4% of the cost of the hardware, then Model 84 is pretty much a no brainer, IMO.

Bro, do you even read Kant? As imperfect beings, our perception of reality is colored by prior experience in addition to the innately limited bandwidth of our sensory faculties. What we see is always our mind's rendition of a thing, never the thing itself. True objectivity is an ideal. It's inaccessible to mortals. Do you think you're divine? Do you expect others to be?

Just chill a little. Come on.
glad that someones mentions Kant!

Has anyone else GUI issues if he uses more than 4 instances, where the GUI isn’t closed.
Ableton reacts very slow. If I disable OpenGL than i don’t have the Problem. I am using 3 monitors on win 10

I tried the demo of Softube Model 84 and I'm going to buy a license. It sounds very good.

I compared it to DCO-106, I tried to match the setting but Softube's is at another level. For some sounds they both get in the same ballpark and, depending on the sound, in a mix it may not matter, but Model 84 sounds at least 20% better to me. The oscillators are brighter (or, perhaps, DCO-106's oscillators are missing something on the top end?), maybe with slightly less bass than the DCO-106 (which it's not a bad thing... Model 84 sounds "cleaner" to me on the low end), but the big difference to me is on the envelope!

Also, before spending any money, I compared it also to other takes on different Juno models, especially because I'm not found on the lack of an on-board arpeggiator (they kept it true to the original). I compared it both to the TAL U-No LX (which I own) and the Jun-6V (I just tried the demo briefly for reference / possible future purchase), but I prefer the Model 84 tone and it's different enough to warrant a purchase (even without an on-board arpeggiator!)

My only concern is the "vintage" style of the gui, I would have avoided at least the finger traces  but that doesn't stop me from using it.

Luckily for those weirdos, there are hundreds if not thousands of other synths available that may suit their perverse needs better.
Why the f**k do people here always have to go to this level to try to get a point across? If you like it and thought it was worth spending money on good for you. Not all of us think like you. I think it’s boring and the UI is a mess (not to mention having a System-8 with the 106 plug out). Doesn’t make anyone stupid, an idiot, slow, or whatever adjectives you want to apply. GTFO with this nonsense.

This has to be pretty common. It was one of the top selling synthesizers of all time.
