i think the name is good.. don’t really care though. i mean.. it suits the many effects on offer. tape was a multi effect (delay, flange) and also rearranger.. people used to cut up tapes and put them in different order all the time or combine different takes etc..
i don’t think a plug in name has to be so literal. just fitting well enough so people remember it. tape fiasco is already well known. fiasco is a good word. i like it.. also, no one else is using it so.. might as well hold on to it.

Tape Fiasco makes sense to me, it messes up what is recorded into the buffer, I think tape doesn’t just mean tape fx like saturation but more the idea of replicating and adding to cut up techniques

I had several tape fiascos when I grew, for example my He-man Master of the Universe booklet cassette which had an unfortunate meeting with a magnet, but if this can achieve same kind of noise changing the name fits
