I'm not sure if there is a specific term that best describes the span between the lowest chord note and the highest chord note, which essentially comprise that chord's bounding interval. I suppose you are free to coin your own term in this case (e.g. confining interval).musicdevelopments wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 10:04 am How do you call "the difference between the lowest and highest allowed chord note" in one word?

Sent you a couple of emails,
A lot of functions are not working in MM VST version.
Randomise chord progression
Locking of any notes
Basically you can't move anything on the screen manually.
I've also tried downloading a demo version but still get the same problems
If anyone else has downloaded the VST version and is not getting these problems let me know.

Using v4.4.0 as vst hosted in Reaper and can't reproduce the problem.
What DAW are you using?
Cheers.

I have crashes using the VST in Cubase on Mac when exiting Cubase.
EDIT:
Cubase is crashing even when closing a project not just exiting the program using RC VST3 and a few tracks.

hey all, need confirmation of a bug and need to know if other os's experince this.. so, please try this..
double click a phrase to send to the phrase editor.. In the phrase editor, press play and repeat. move a note with the arrow key either up or down. The bug is, it won't play the new note position unless you stop play back and restart.
thanks..

Yes, you are right, BluGenes. This has worked before, but it is fixed now.
Any other bugs that I should fix in v4.4.2?

I don't know if this needs a fix, or merely a comment/explanation, but I do look forward to some sort of reply about it. Thanks!

RC 4.4.2:
-Recalls VST properly when loading a Standalone composition. Everything labeled correctly etc.
-Still crashes Cubase when closing a Project, not exiting just closing.

Like anything in RC, if it's not in the manual, it probably does have a hint. Just hover your mouse on the drop zone in the generator.sjewins wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 4:50 pm Where can I find documentation on the markov learn functionality? the user guide doesn't mention it.

It's pretty self explanatory after that, but, works best with absolute notes. So, just render your midi and save it before you drop it. I suggest using the phrase browser for that, make a category and save them there.. try and keep the length of the midi being dropped the same length or shorter than the phrase too.
Once you drop midi into that box, you can see what it does and you should be able to figure it out..
EDIT: Note too, don't use phrase auto apply with this. Any setting you change creates a new phrase and simply manually re-setting the options can generate hundreds of auto save phrases, leading to an eventual crash. (known bug)
edit: I am talking about the history of the phrase, not the saving to the browser

on the subject of saved history of phrases.. (by the way, that bug was fixed, release coming later)
A cool idea I had was, the possibility to loop through from the beginning each saved phrase on play back loop, or start at a save point..
Ya know, click play and with loop set, each play back loop would play the next saved phrase.. or randomize a set of selected phrases etc..
Would something like that be useful? I think it would be a great way of hearing combinations.. maybe even adding in a favoring setting as well.. then just play back the favorites..
Atilla: you could just build of couple of new lists..

In my experience, software generally fails to grapple with making quick and efficient the process of auditioning and deciding to keep or discard elements of content.BluGenes wrote: Fri Jul 15, 2022 1:21 pm A cool idea I had was, the possibility to loop through from the beginning each saved phrase on play back loop, or start at a save point..

In conjunction with the scheme BluGenes describes above, I could image a function (e.g. keystroke) in the software that let's the user retrospectively delete from the saved phrase list the last fully played phrase - and this without pausing or stopping the playback of the entire list.
So, like this: Phrases are playing back ... - Phrase C completes playback - Phrase D commences playback - User chooses (or not) to press button and delete Phase C.
Designs might vary, but the specific goal would be the fastest, most efficient possible auditioning and deciding.
Another key might be: "Kill the phrase currently playing, deleting it and moving immediately to play the next phrase"
See the difference? See how two different scenarios are made as efficient as possible.
Case A: Decision made by user after hearing the full phrase. ('cause making the judgement required that)
Case B: Decision made by user after hearing only some of the beginning of the phrase. ('cause that's all that was needed to conclude "NOPE, NEXT!").

Quick question when you say it works best with absolute notes
Is there an easy way to convert a folder of midi files to absolute notes and then saving them into the browser.
