It seems to me, that after some rescans and a second or third import ST3 has
imported Sonik Synth 2. In the windows file explorer the files
were already there before. I installed everything into the default folder.
I am not able to import Miroslav Philharmonic after two attempts. I did not
get any error message and Miroslav files do not show up in the Windows file
explorer or ST3.

LAGinz,
Seems you post went unnoticed; I'll try to fill you in best I can.

I assume you mean "from ST2" and "into ST3".

1.) Select "Multi" in the browser pane (top left)
2.) At the bottom of the browser pane, click the menu icon (lower left - looks like 3 stacked bars) and then select "Import Combis"
3. Follow the on screen instructions to select the file location and click ok.

See page 19 of user manual for more details if needed.

When I saw your post I thought "oh oh....there goes my eSoundz combis for Miroslav".

Works like a charm - so far :hihi:

So far (as I taps me head knocking on wood), I have successfully imported Miroslav instruments and combis. Have received one error while importing Sonic Synth 2 which aborted the importation. The error was about the file path.....something ST3 didn't like but not sure what because I could not see the entire notice.

I'm wondering if multi tasking has anything to do with the errors.

Am retrying now to import Sonic Synth 2 only this time I'll not do anything else. Last time I opened the manual and was reading it while ST3 worked and then got the error message. All was fine up to that point.

Should know in a bit if this is the case. Nearing that point again in the process.

It was more than likely this file:

SonikSynth2\I Elements B\G Groove Elements\130BPM_ailing.sti

It's seems to be causing problems for some. Remove it from it's original folder and the import will work.

Thank you lotus2035 :tu:

You just saved me a ton of work doing the import.

I started doing the folders one at a time to determine which file is causing the problem. Now I can stop that nonsense and get down to business :D

Waiting each time for the database to rebuild is crazy, but I did not want to run risk of something else going wrong by hitting the cancel button so have just been waiting for the build to complete.

Nail bitter! :hihi:

You're welcome, :-)

I had this problem myself yesterday, removed the file and re-scanned. I thought it was my files that were bad but then I saw whyterabbyt's post about it here:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 0#p5821690

...and some replied confirming the same problem.

Post

Well now, this is strange.

I had set an import of Sonic Synth 2 to the first folder "A Synths", and after ST3 finished its database build, ALL of Sonic Synth 2 is listed.

However, now that I try to import presets I get error messages :dog:

BTW - in case anyone else does not realize it when you get an error message and you cannot read the full line, there is a scroll bar at the bottom of the error message.

It's obscured because it is almost the same color as the background. If you have old eyes - like me :hihi: - it's really hard to tell the difference.

I'm gonna gripe now....seems for a charged update to get what we need to work with (x64), coupled with the length of time to get copy to loyal customers (10 years???), we should have been able to receive product that works without having to jump through all these hoops.

I want to make music - not sit at my system for days now (2 in my case and still a ways to go before I can produce) trying to get what I paid for to work! :x

I DO NOT think this is fair to ANY customer, particularly to PAYING customers.

I know I am writing to deaf ears but still....:x

Ok, rant over. You may carry on now.

Unless of course you feel compelled, obligated or for some moral reason wish to respond. ;)

You know, I read that post and being the old feeble minded forgetful idiot I can be, I completely forgot about it. :hihi:

I even made a mental note on it and several other posts in case I had problems once I finally got the dl's done and started installing.

Guess I better write things instead :hihi: But I've been trying to save the trees :)

Thanks to all for the contributions and trying to help each other :tu:

Gonna be looking at how to get the midi patterns to play, and how to get those instrument bitmap images to show as well (although I´ll prolly turn it off again to save ressources, but maybe it somehow inspires.)

Great, thanks! The patterns should be covered in the manual but it really can be as simple as loading one and dragging onto one of the keys of the virtual keyboard (or even into your DAW as MIDI) and they are very cool. Also, for live performers you can store an amazing amount of patterns in a set list if that's how you roll :) As far as the rendered instrument graphics, you can toggle that by clicking the INFO button.
Ok, managed to display the instrument bitmaps! :) But all these patterns are empty and nothing happends if I click on the arrow Down. Do I need to go through the instruments to find one that comes with patterns, or..?

In case it helps any trying to import Sonic Synth 2 Multi's

The following files caused errors:
Presets/SS2 Pads/ Wheel In Motion MW.ikmp
Presets/SS2 Special FX/Modulator Radio MW.ikmp

Remove them from the folders and set aside to your desktop if you have problems. Remember to put them back after the import in case you use SS2 as VST or Stand Alone later on.

I'll let you know if any issues with SampleMoog.

Keeping my fingers crossed I can get to making music soon ;)

Peter,

For those with dual systems, Mac/PC, is it necessary to dl both Mac and PC Sounds installers?

I have dl'd the PC versions and find Mac installers inside the Zip's.

I've gone ahead and started the Mac dl's but in case it saves other the trouble I'm hoping we can get clarification.

Thanks!

Pretty smooth Download/Install/Import for me here on Mac :)
Same (few) import errors.
However, I don't think that it interrupts the import when you see the error message.. rather, it completes its task, then reports any errors at the end of the process.
One thing I haven't quite pinned down yet, is that, when used as VST3 in Cubase 7.5.20, when I quit Cubase, it "quits unexpectedly".
Other than that, very happy here :).
I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

Well, I'm on Mac here, and the zip file does contain the Windows .exe file also.
